LG CX (C10) OLED 2020 Thread

What's everybody's experience with image retention/burn in on this set?

I'm torn between this and the Samsung Q95T.
Haven't noticed any on my 55 yet.

I have logged about 30 hours of PC gameplay on it now; mostly MSFS and RDR2, and it's been impeccable.

Keep brightness at reasonable settings, and don't leave it displaying static images (such as desktop) for too long - have a screensaver or screen sleep enabled.

Sounds like you've received a duff panel - return!

Just processed the return and refund. No stock online and they couldn't tell me when they'd get new stock. Apparently I'd have to wait and phone again to process an exchange when stock showed up online as they couldn't reserve stock for me!

Thought about swapping to the 55CX during the call but will wait a bit longer now and see what BF brings.

I don't know if it's a setting or if it's automatic, but on HDMI input for my PC, the screen dims if there's no activity. So if I walk off on a pause screen or desktop, TV is dim when I'm back. It only returns to full brightness with substantial screen activity - moving the mouse doesn't trigger it. Handy!

I have John Lewis willing to price match at 1299. If I buy now I'll be within the window for black Friday right? In terms of price drop.

Do you guys use any fancy wallpapers on desktop to help with burn in etc?

I dont know why I'm so worried about it, surely if it was that big if an issue they wouldnt be able to sell these TVs? :D

I know it's a thing but for average day to day usage I'd hope it will be fine

You'll definitely want the wallpaper to be just pure black.

Ordered the 65" yesterday from RS - coming Tuesday :D

I paid £1.5k for the 55 B6 a couple of years ago, so £2k for the 65" seems like a bargin.

Picked up my cx today. Had it put next to a Samsung q90 and it was very very close. But I couldn't ignore 4x hdmi 2.1

Still need to play with settings over next few days. Also need a new sound bar and sub as mine is a standard LG optical one.

Appriciate the reply. Frustrating as this is the most I've ever spent in tech and 20% screen isn't being used haha.
There are films that are the same aspect ratio as the TV and will fill the screen, just depends what aspect ratio the director used.

Zooming to get rid of the bars just ends up distorting the picture and reducing the quality.
