LG CX (C10) OLED 2020 Thread

The G5 looks like a genuine leap if this review is to be believed.

I guess the problem for me is that its a different tier and therefore price (£2400 for 55") of TV. If this trickles down to the C6 for less than £2000 then maybe.
You currently get £400 back on the 55" G5 effectively making it £2000 ;) the HDR compared to the CX is also another place it excels ...

What's up with the accurate SDR measurement. On the G5? In the table from that review.

And as usual wait till the sales. Current prices are so inflated.

I think even £2000 I'd baulk at.

We'll see what happens later in the year.

The C5 doesn't look like a decent enough upgrade. The G4 doesn't look half bad though, didn't realise there was such a large gap in performance between C and G versions.

G4 is a brilliant option and also very cheap currently, 55" is £1300 and still get a significant uplift in brightness and colour over the CX and a 24hz uplift (144hz )... I very nearly purchased one but decided to go G5 at extra cost. LG really have segregated their screens now ... C series is firmly mid tier with all the new goodies going to the G series which is one of the reasons I choose to upgrade from C to G .

Good comparison on the CX and G4 here ...

Price i was quoting was from JL but if Richersounds do it cheaper then even better , you can then of course get JL to price match it which they will do :D

2024 was the year that G4 had the top CPU and C4 had the next chip down. Prior to that, C4 and G4 were mostly just a different panel. Now as mentioned it's firmly G4 = flagship, C4 = mid tier OLED / upper mid TV range.

If they wanted too LG could have given this year's C5 a MLA panel to enhance its brightness and colours but instead they just released it with a standard panel and on top of that also has a gen 9 processor rather than the 11 that was in last year G4 and this year G5 ( slightly different versions between them on the G ) ... as it stands last years G4 is a better TV/Monitor in everyway over this years C5 and they are also considerably cheaper... it has the MLA panel which has better brightness and has better colour /HDR over the C5 , better CPU ( gen 11 ) and both have 144hz ...buy the G4 while it last
