LG Flatron 29UM65-P (29") UltraWide Monitor Owners Thread

Anyone had any glitches like this?

Happens every few minutes and I managed to catch it on my iPad. Only seems to happen in Windows, never in game. using a new DVI-D cable I got when I ordered the Monitor.

Mine has just done it 3 times when I booted into windows :( Using DVI and new cable from overclockers. I don't have a display port option to turn off like the one mentioned. Must be down to my screen being a different model.

I'm now trying the hdmi cable it came with. If it doesn't do it then it has to be dvi related I guess.

Nice setup avrc!

Was this a recent purchase from Ocuk? Did you get any backlight/glow issues? Really tempted to get one!

And can someone please tell me what resoultion this monitor plays in LoL?

It arrived today. Not really sure what these glow issues are people talk of, my screen looks perfectly fine to me?

The resolution is 2560x1080. Incidentally it's Archeage, not league of legends.

Please let me know how you get on? I believe the HDMI cable doesn't work the screen at full resolution? I might try the DVI cable from my old monitor which I know is good.

Also what cable did you order?

true, I no have any glow or light bleed at all. Just not like how picture quality text not sharp eye strain

This is the dvi cable I was using http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-066-OK&groupid=1929&catid=1754

I'm now using the hdmi cable that came with the monitor. No issues with resolution, it's displaying 2560x1080 just fine at 60Hz. I played a bunch of games without issue, the picture looks great. It'd be a bit daft if it didn't work properly seeing as it's the only display cable that LG supply in the box.

I'll spend some serious time on the desktop tomorrow and see if the flashes have stopped or not as that seems to be theonly place it happens.

Same one I bought.

I'm using the HDMI to DVI-D cable that my old monitor (for sale still!:)) came with and only getting 1080p stretched and no option to change to full res. I'll leave it like this while I'm eating to see what happens.

Thanks for the replies, i did more googling and apparently it supports its native resolution! gonna order one right now. hopefully without the backlight issues and such :)

Well I'm using the HDMI cable I got with the monitor and it hasn't happened again and I'm getting proper resolution. I tried the HDMI-DVI cable I was using with my other monitor and only got 1080p stretched but no flicker. I guess it must be the cable I got.

It's probably a single link dvi-d, then. You need dual link for 2560x1080/60hz.
HMDI doesn't work properly. Image is stretched!

Again, it's perfectly fine. either your cable is faulty or your monitor is.

HDMI does indeed seem to have fixed the flashes, not had any since swapping the cable. I also double checked the manual and it confirms that HDMI supports 2560x1080 so not sure why you've had issues Nexus. The manual covers both UM and UB models.

But PCM2 also said that it is just 16.9 stretched with HDMI

Black level is an HDMI setting. You shouldn't have that option over DisplayPort or DVI, which I assume you are using to get the correct native aspect ratio of the display.

21:9 support was something that was added to HDMI 2.0 and wasn't there in previous versions of the specification such as 1.4 being used here. You will be seeing 16:9 stretched across the display most likely. These monitors still handle that interpolation reasonably well but things will look even better if you use DVI.

If you have a Dual-Link DVI cable (one may come with the monitor I believe) use it and you should see a difference. What is your other monitor model?

Nexus. You have people with the same model telling you it works fine. Ive also told you previously that it worked fine on the two 29ea73's i had at work - we've now got 4 of them running, all hdmi and all fine. I don't doubt that 2560x1080 was added officially to hdmi2.0 however i have yet to come across a 2560x1080 screen that hdmi doesn't support. Infact, ive got a 34um95 here in front of me and hdmi is working @3440x1440/50hz. Hdmi 1.4 has more than enough bandwidth for 2560x1080.
