LG Flatron 29UM65-P (29") UltraWide Monitor Owners Thread

Will try that and see but I think there might be more to it than just adjusting the FOV.

Flawless widescreen has been down for quite a while now :(

Have had no problems with COD AW at full screen in the campaign and it's also looking quite good. No frame drops that have been noticeable either. Not tried Multiplayer.

So recently got one of these monitors but I've been wondering some things:-

Under the menu of the monitor itself, what does changing the ratio actually do? 1:1, original, wide all look the same?

same thing with response time, I currently have it on medium what does changing it to low, high or off actually do, what does it affect?

Thanks guys

Just different aspect ratio depending on what content is being displayed. Just keep it set to wide.

Response time is related to motion clarity/blur, high setting has the lowest response time where as "off" has the highest response time. The high setting has noticeable inverse ghosting so best just to keep it set to medium.

This monitor look awesome, I'm just getting into web design and having a HTML, CSS and browser preview side by side would be great for productivity. Two questions (one being a huge request).

1. I have an i5 4690k and a GTX760, Advanced Warfare runs well at 1080p, would the 600 pixels in width be hugely taxing on my card?

2. Does anybody have a 22" monitor? If so could you do me a big favour and take a picture of it next to the 29" behemoth?

Thanks,
Marcus

Well this is strange...... if I turn off the monitor and turn it back on, the monitor resets to 1920x1080 res. (and there is no way to put it back to 2560x1080 res. since apparently 1920x1080 is max), only way to get 2560x1080 is to reset the PC.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Have no problems with DVI-D or display port.

Then the 21.9 aspect ratio is a good reason to get one!

And yes, you will get better performance since less pixels to push but it won't be a huge amount of difference.

Yup

edit

and it is just one control, joystick OSD system

Thanks for the quick reply Nexus18!

ahh ok, then this monitor wont be good for me since it will be above my present setup and resting on top of the main monitor top frame. :(

To bad though, seems many here is happy with this one, but I keep looking. =)

Edit: And I take it the newer one, LG 29UB65 has the same "joystick OSD" ?
