LG Flatron 29UM65-P (29") UltraWide Monitor Owners Thread

Sure thing :) Probably just post something along the lines of this:

10-20% brightness is ideal (if necessary, you can go higher but I wouldn't recommend it, most definitely not higher than 50% anyway!)

Either use the cinema preset, if you find the image a bit too dark overall, you can increase the gamma via nvidia or AMD's control panel.

OR

Use custom preset with these settings:

contrast - 65
gamma - gamma 1
custom RGB values - R/50 G/50 B/51

However, every panel is different so what might work best for one might not work best for someone else.

Best site for manually calibrating:

Good calibration test images:

As for response time setting, either high or medium is best. With high setting I can see inverse ghosting so have just stuck with the default "medium" setting.

This is a great site for testing the response time settings out:

that would be really handy and thanks vimes will order some the now ( frightened it falls of and breaks lol)

Well they hold my 50" GT50 plasma to its stand so they should be fine...!!

LG failed to send me the right ones on three separate attempts. Their support was never very good and would not inspire me to have another of their monitors.

I have watched quite a lot of blu ray films on this monitor now and the quality, colours etc. are just amazing but more importantly, the aspect ratio, oh man, it is just sooooo good not having any black bars wasting screen space! Games in 21.9 are just fantastic too especially the really atmospheric ones i.e. alien isolation!

All I need now is a monitor which has perfect motion clarity, freesync/gsync and MUCH better blacks/contrast ratio. Hopefully Samsung will have a 29-32" VA 21.9 monitor coming out next year along with their 34" version.

EDIT:

Found a semi-decent review of this monitor:

Probably the only review we are going to get :p :o

Added to OP! :D

Tried overclocking my monitor and couldn't even get 70HZ without frame skipping!

BTW, I tried the HDMI cable that came with the monitor (to see if I could OC without frame skipping) and noticed when I first turn my PC on from a cold boot, the screen res. is only 1920x1080 yet when I restart the PC, it boots with the 2560x1080 res. so that will be why I initially thought that HDMI didn't support 21.9/2560x1080....

Any idea why my PC/monitor is doing this?

Picked mine up a few days ago, very happy with it as of yet! waiting for Virgin to install the internet before I can Play any games properly on it though :(

Photoshop and Films are great, color is fantastic compared with my old LG screen, which was quite old in fairness so its been a big leap in technology.

This is actually the 29MA73, TV and monitor, but as far as I can tell, this is exactly the same but comes with a Remote and freeview TV lol

Not the best photo, sorry.

I was also pleased to see that at the 2560x1080 resolution, 'Raptor' still recommended all the settings on all games to max, running a 290x GPU.

However, the 'double buffer' V-Sync setting on Titanfall made the game jumpy, disabled this and seemed to run 100% fine after that, and I think Crysis did the same :/ any ideas?

Yup 2560x1080 res. isn't very taxing especially with a top end gpu like yours, I haven't had any issues with games and max settings (except crysis 3 + I generally don't use aa) with my 290.

Can't comment on those games since I don't have them but I find these two methods much better for vsync:

- use borderless windowed mode so that windows vsync + triple buffering is used

or

- set FPS cap to 59.94 in a user config file and turn vsync on in game

Hi I was also tempted on buying this monitor on here when it was £240 with free P&P but there is always another time haha. Anyway I was just wondering if Advanced Warfare has 21:9 support by default and if it runs smoothly.

No 32.9 support, I'm sure flawless widescreen will have it soon though but won't be able to use when online :(

As for the game, running superbly on my PC rig in sig, max settings even max aa.
