LG Flatron 29UM65-P (29") UltraWide Monitor Owners Thread

Yes it does have the bandwidth unequivocally. Not only does hdmi 1.4 have the bandwidth for 2560x1080/60, but it will also allow 3440x1440/50 on the 34um95. 60hz requires display port.

I do not know where that information came from. I shouldn't have to keep saying this for you to believe me!

hehe I know :D

Just he does seem very knowledgeable about anything related to displays so would have expected for him to get that right ;)

It is him you now need to convince now, not me :p

I'll switch to HDMI some point this week, what black setting does everyone use then?

I've put in my return request just now. :(

I'm torn between either ordering a replacement or just go full crazy and order a ROG Swift.

Depends:

- you have an nvidia GPU or plan on getting one? If not, not much point since gsync is the main reason to get the ROG
- are you more of a gamer especially semi-comp. FPS? Then yes.

From what I have read, the TN panel on the ROG does seem very good for colours but the anti glare finish is apparently rather grainy. Although you do get more vertical height and res. but then lose out on the 21.9 aspect ratio :(

Only thing i can think of is that people who are using older gpus that only support hdmi 1.2 or 1.1 are confusing the issue. would need to do some digging on the hardware but anything ati hd4xxx and newer will do it, not sure about nvidia but anything 5xx and newer should be safe as well. they doubled the bandwidth from hdmi 1.2 to 1.3 (1.4 has the same bandwidth as 1.3) which is where i think the confusion might come from.

Got my 29EB53 today. I'm a happy bunny! Looks the business, hardly ANY backlight bleed, no stuck pixels, and best of all, no cheap glossy black plastic! Some IPS glow, but no getting away from that. I've seen worse anyway. Has the USB hub at back also which I'm glad about... very useful for web cam and memory sticks. These are sold out now with no more coming (EOL I believe), so very glad I got one. I've still got my eye out for the curved Dell 34" though, but good to know I can sell this if/when I go that route, as it's a perfect specimen... I just hope it doesn't develop any bleed!! I've heard that can happen.

Nice one Legend!

I have only seen a couple of people report that and only for the 34" version so hopefully us 29" owners should be ok....

Likewise here, except I am waiting for a 29-32" version of this monitor with:

- gsync or preferably freesync
- faster response time or some extra hardware to make motion clarity perfect

120HZ would be nice, but I am happy enough with 60HZ

I also kind of want to go for a VA panel next time to get much better contrast ratio/blacks.

ok so today I received mine, finally in the club high 5?

took a chance on a b-grade and seems ok, no stuck pixels. had no leads but hdmi working fine in it, havnt done any light tests yet.

one thig it is missing that I need tho is the 2 screws to hold it to stand, ive got it just hanging the now but does anyone know the size of the 2 screws I need eg m3x10mm.

Room for a desk mount?

For the minute I thought that it was my first one that I sent back, as it had missing screws and other issues.

The screws that I noted are super cheap on ebay. Item number 390764197268

I no longer have a 21:9 monitor as I have returned to a 16:9 1440p, I missed the vertical space too much.
