Not sure if for me that extra peak hdr brightness will be a big issue. I will be coming from a 1080 LG Plasma TV and I am not convinced paying extra 10-20% for the C9 is worth it for me.

Will see how it goes. If the price is close enough between the two I may go C9. Thanks for the heads up though :)

What evidence are you basing this on? LG constantly say they all work off of the same panel.

Why can't you run higher than 60hz on a C9 at UW resolutions? They can run 1920x1080 and 2560x1440 at 120hz of of a pc's hdmi 2.0b.

HDMI 2.0b is theoretically 18Gbps with proper 18Gbps cables but that might be pushing it.

    3840x1440 ..100Hz 8bit ~16.59 Gbps
    3840x1440 ..105Hz 8bit ~17.42Gbps
    3840x1440 ..108Hz 8bit ~17.92 Gbps.
    3840x1440 .. 110Hz 8bit ~18.25 Gbps

    3840x1500 .. 98Hz 8bit ~17.50 Gbps
    3840x1550 .. 100Hz 8bit ~17.86 Gbps
    3840x1600 .. 98Hz 8bit ~18.06 Gbps

That doesn't mean that the C9 OLED TV's would accept and display the signals properly and with VRR or that games would support some of the non standard resolutions - but it would be cool if a C9 could do a 8bit x1400 or x1600 UW rez at close to 100hz for now. Maybe someone could test it out at a few of those custom resolutions on a C9.

gotta say i really do miss this as a desktop user experience. i returned the OLED because i'm going back to lounge gaming but man it was so phenomenal. it felt like PC gaming had at last become perfect. oh well. maybe one day I'll return to desk gaming and if i do, this will be my most prioritised purchased.

you can shove ur 2080ti's up ur ***.. i'd take a 2060 on an OLED over sli 2080tis on the miserable excuses for PC monitors ANY DAY (apart from if i was a competitve player of course).

Costco 90 day return policy. They are amazing.

Sadly the 77 incher is a costly beast.. so i might opt for the Samsung Q90R 75'' or more likely whatever samsung release as the next Samsung FALD 75'' display.

OLED 77 inch models are just WAY too expensive.

Nice. But if I ever purchased an OLED, I do not think I could return it :)

Decided I am definitely going for the LG B9 provided it drops to close to a grand on Black Friday.

@aoaaron Hey man I'm really tempted to get one of the B9's now they're hitting the £1k mark, and good to know that your C9 could do custom resolutions! My B7 wouldn't do it for some reason. Might be timings issue though, so could be worth me trying again to check it's not a B-model limitation.

Argh, managed to get the 55" for about $900, an unpassable deal.

Going from the Aw3418dw to this OLED for PC usage.

Already have all the mitigations planed, 1 min screensaver etc. Can't wait.

Haha. Half the fun can be in the anticipation :D

How much of that $900 was state tax? Just trying to work out how much it is so I can slap on 20% VAT (Value Added Tax) here and work out how much I should be paying here in the UK.
