LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

£966 is the cheapest I can spot? German seller too. What are import prices like in terms of tax from Europe? Someone mentioned £200 earlier but that can't be right surely.

Is there a concrete UK release date for the monitor, I'd prefer to buy from UK retailer for returns / warranty issues etc.??

I thought there were no import taxes from the EU

Customs Duty
Customs Duty is a tax charged on importation of goods produced outside the European Union (EU). You won't have to pay Customs Duty if you're travelling from the EU, or buying, ordering or sending goods to the UK from the EU for your own use. Follow the link below for a list of countries in the EU.

Oh sweet! Well I'm happy with any price that's sub £1k and still have yet to hear back from LG about a review sample so if I've not heard from them before these start to come out properly then I will probably grab one at around the £850 mark unless imports aren't that much dearer as they're readily available.

The 200 quid import tax I was referring to was from a american site. Monitor was 580. As I went to check out and picked my location it added 220 and I think about 30 delivery.

Now it seems its becoming in stock in quite a few retailers on Europe so now that makes more sense. £855 cheapest so far. I might wait to weekend to see if they go down.

There's a big thread on this monitor over on hardforum which is U.S. based I believe. People have started picking them up, in stores, for $999!

There's a few user reports and photos popping up too. Worth a look.

So that's under £600! I know we always get screwed in the UK, but that's painful.

Surely thats £600 before tax - so £720 after .......so European price of £860 isnt so bad

Come on OCUK, there's the opportunity for some profit to be made here! The only thing making me lean towards the Dell variant is their RMA policy. Who cares about the stand, that's what the VESA mounting holes are for.

I see there are a few etailers offering this monitor for around €949, which is about £780. They're shipping to Germany only, though.

I'd wait a week or so, for stock to saturate and bring the price down a bit.

Edit: You can purchase through Amazon.de and ship to the UK. (hurrah for Chrome's translation) The final price works out to £820 delivered, using Amazon's Currency Converter.

looking for option all in one for regular use, pc gaming, net tv + console because no other option, can't have another small tv for console in my room, no space.

I just received a 34 um65 2560x1080 monitor 2day. I'm not sure I like it. I think I sit to close for that size. Movies are excellent. Gaming is nice width, but i dropped down from 120hz to 60hz. Not that I do hit over 60fps in many games I play :P Altho, I did notice the slight blur from normal windows usage.

The problem I did notice was when I had windows open side by side, I noticed the perspective skew from glancing side to side. I felt like I had to move from side of the screen to the other.

I'm very tempted to send it back under DSR and get the AOC Q2770PQU. I think I might go 27" 1440p @ 60hz, or stay with the tried and tested 27" 1080p 120hz+

I'm guessing that the 27" 2560x1440 will look better @ 16:9 rather than 2560x1080 @ 21:9.

Monitors are becoming the bane of my life.
I was on a Sammy 23A700D 120HZ 1080p for about 2 years, and had absolutely no problems at all with the monitor, I found everything to be perfect.

I absolutely love 120HZ, the 3D's a nice addition, but I found the colours on this TN panel to be very good really, games like Dirt 2 would always surprise me with just how vibrant they looked.

Then came the 500 quid 4K TN monitors, and I just wanted one. But then I got to thinking, there isn't actually more peripheral on screen, so when I saw this monitor pop up, I was sold, 21:9 and an overall massive resolution.

However, who knows when/where this monitor will pop up in the UK, and for price it's looking like it's 800 quid.

So, I was back to the drawing board, hovering over the buy button on about 8 different monitors, from 27" 2560x1440 monitors, to 30" 2560x1600, to 25" 2560x1080's and then finally some 2560x1080 monitors.

In the end, I took a punt on ; http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-063-AS&groupid=17&catid=1120 as to me personally, it looks the best.

It's coming tomorrow, so lets see how I get on with it.

If I like 21:9, but feel that their really should be "more" to it, I'll DSR it and wait on that LG 3440x1440 one.

If I don't like 21:9, don't know what I'll be doing.

This Samsung will go to my consoles, and my console monitor is going to my brother.

Lawl Martini you sound just like me. Ever since my Trinitron died i have been on the search for something as good. What about the Eizo 2421? It is IPS quality, Better blacks than IPS and 120HZ with no flicker? Unless we like 21:9 with 60hz and the blur there will be little other options. Why go 4K with 60hz blur over 21:9 almost 4k with blur?

After either one of those choices fail you, You go right back to 1080p 120hz on the Eizo. And the worst thing is even if you had unlimited money you would still need 3 displayport or tri-sli just to do it. For me that means a whole motherboard and psu change. Oh and you have to calibrate the bugger too.
