LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

That is pretty crazy how you got a free screen lol, id send them a cake if I was you :D.

Just got my new screen this morning. Cant really test it properly till tonight though as its glaring sunshine through my window at the moment so will check on bleed and glow tonight when its dark.
Haven't calibrated yet either, Will give it some time to settle in.
Having to use the monitor sound at the moment too haha, My new speakers got lost in the mail so they had to send me out another pair today. DPD really is useless.

Yes, see photo posted earlier :)

Ah that's good! Be sure to post up pictures. It will be nice to start seeing these being posted with minimal bleed levels too.

Essentially yes that is correct. Mr Heinz of LG Germany appears to have gone MIA though as he's yet to respond back to my thanks message! Hope the man is alright!

Wow, result :)

Have to ask though, do you think all the hassle involved was worth it to save £500? I'm guessing yes as it's a significant chunk...

Thanks for the correction. I took a few pictures last night around those settings using a conveniently positioned bookshelf and the camera's timer to avoid shake. Turns out, the monitor is much better than I'd been giving it credit for - previous photos were taken with a much higher ISO (camera selected 1/8s at ISO800).

No worries about the calibrator, I think I'll go hit up Amazon. I can far more easily justify £30 than £100+ to get it calibrated. I didn't even know those LG ones existed.

I think anyone with this monitor should post pictures :P its nice to compare bleed and glow... especially with ones that haven't been sent back to LG for repair.

I posted some a good while back. I was one of the first people with the new batch and I have some extremely minimal glow& bleed.

Here's the photo at night again.

N19h7m4r3, do you know what camera settings were used? Probably worth listing those also so different people's photos can be compared.

If you have the original image, the settings may actually be listed in the EXIF data. At least, photos taken with my old Samsung (:p) phone do.

It is worth noting that if people use the same camera settings settings then they should also set the OSD brightness to the same value too!

Just checked iCloud and sure enough there it is.

Iphone 4S
Camera focal length 4.28mm
Apeture f/2.4
ISO 800
Shutter Speed 1/15

My OSD Brightness is 35.

The closest I can get to an accurate representation of what it looks like to the eye. Brightness 22.

Is it just me or are all these monitors very similar when it comes to glow and bleed...My last one looks exactly the same as yours does in that pic.. Bottom corners the worst top left corner slightly less and top right corner hardly any. Mine was pretty much exactly the same lol.

Use the pictures as guides of course, not the ultimate indicator of how good or bad a screen is as camera sensors will all vary and the same settings for one won't in exactly the same results for another cameras because of that.

As a good approximation though it's all good :)

If you look at your screen head on from a reasonable seated position (as in, not eyeballing the screen a few inches away lol) and the photo you take represents what you see from that distance head on then you're on the right path!

Lol it makes me scared to check mine. Sometimes its better just not to know or you obsess over it.

EDIT: Well I spoke to soon. I just checked and its actually worse than the first one... way worse lol

Before I just had IPS glow in the corners as when you looked directly at them you couldn't see it but now when I look directly at the corners theres a ton of white bleed. Guess I have no choice but to send this to LG then.
