LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

And here is the bleed at night with no window reflections to fight with:

Just look at that unacceptable backlight bleed

:p

Damn Mrk! You have one singular perfect monitor. I have the slightest bit of bleed in my corners. Barely noticeable, but after that photo.....

I also ordered the LG calibrator. Interesting to see how it goes.
Sadly through a reseller, I couldn't find anyplace in the UK or IRE that sells the darn thing bar those.

Mrk.. I no u run with the behind the screen ambient light but that makes it impossible to really see what the bleed is like as it just messes with the eyes and makes the contrast look higher and the blacks blacker so it's hard to spot any issues. Of course if that's how you run it.. Then it's fine but for showing issues it's not very accurate. I do it myself with my TV as it makes blacks look deeper to you eyes and colours pop more but it hides all screen issues so it makes it look more uniform on camera than it actually is.. If I did the same I guarantee my last screen would have looked great on camera lol
It made my old led look like oled on pics lol

I run it with the LED strip on and off, no difference with it on. Some people's eyes might get fooled but you can't fool a camera ff sensor the same way. All of my photos represent how you'd see it in person, with or without LED strip doesn't matter, it's always the same.

In the above photo the LED strip behind the monitor is actually shown a lot brighter than it actually is because I've used the same 1/50s shutter at iso640 as the daylight photos as that still represents the panel brightness post calibration to get the exposure correct for the panel at that brightness setting. Because of that the LED strip appears brighter but the panel is still how you'd see it in person.

mrk, I had a look for that LED strip but there are soooooooo many LED strips so can you link the exact same one as yours please? :p

Still not sure if it would look good with a red wall though...

Oh and compulsory "sod you and your perfect monitor!" :(

:p

This was the one I ordered: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00FF2CYOS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I cut off about 4 LEDs as I didn't like it by default as it was rather bright. Cutting a few off gave a nicer ambient brightness.

Thanks, ordered! :)

I will probably have to cut of at least another 2 LEDs then...

One thing which will get rather annoying, having to reach to the back of the pc case to turn them of/on all the time...

ASDA?! :D

Will have to google around then and find a decent set that doesn't cost too much :p

edit:

actually don't think this back light will work well with my setup at all! Got a white shelf directly above my monitor so the light will bounce of that.
