Lids off when buying petrol

At the end of the day its the companys policy, your attitude stinks, do you think they will lose any sleep over bikers not filling up.

thats not exactly a like for like situation is it? you are likly to have some form of conversation with the person at the counter in ocuk

Why wouldn't the same apply at Tesco?

Also it's not as simple as "conversation".

I think you misunderstood what he meant.

I meant because you are likly to have a conversation with the ocuk staff you wouldn't do so with your helmet on cause A you would look like a pleb and B it would be rude where as in a fuel station you say pump X, hand over your cash and say k thx bai

They don't. Most transactions these days are credit/debit cards.

I've emptied a safe at a Tesco Express. Just over £25,000 in there.

Safe gets emptied once a week. Five tills. Each can take over a grand in a day without breaking a sweat.

It's got nothing to do with conversation in that case. I would be very very concerned if someone wakled into a shop with a bike helmet. You could hold up the entire shop and be on your way without ever being identified.

Anyhow, im signing off this one. As far as I see it, ive never been asked to take my helmet off so neither me or the 30+ fuel stations I have used see it as an issue. If one day I do get asked to remove my helmet, I will simply move on to a station that accomodates me

What has that got to do with whether I take my helmet off or not when buying fuel?

Why do you think that staff request helmets to be removed?. Someone could fill up and be on their merry way with little chance of being identified. Effectively stealing money.

It's mainly morons on stolen bikes with a jerry can on each handle or whatever and the genuine customers have to pay for it. It's preventative measures and there are very good reasons for it.

EDIT : and as shown by an actual employee they do hold a lot of cash on site.

Same could be said for moslem women wearing veils and chavs with hoodies and scarves.

Do they have panic alarms in petrol stations?

I know they have them in superstores and banks, why not a petrol, one push of that button and its code whatever, armed response, so its just precautions.

Certainly in every customer facing store i've been in, youths are asked to remove them. If they don't, well, they don't get served.

Veils are a grey area. Personally I would have them removed as well, as along with being a security risk I consider them pretty degrading to the person wearing them. But no company is ever going to enforce that simply because everyone would be on their backs before they'd finished the sentence.

Yes, stores are all fitted with alarms that generate an instant police response.

Muslim women? tricky one with all that PC nonsense. Chavs etc I have seen removed from shops for wearing hoodies. Infact do you not remember the whole "hoo hah" about chavs not being allowed in shopping malls.

I won't remove my helmet at this time of year.
It means I have to un-velcro arms on my jacket, remove gloves, remove inner gloves, remove helmet, remove balaclava.

They can sod off if they think I'm gonna do all that. I'll buy petrol elsewhere.

The people saying "if you don't like it, go somewhere else" are starting to annoy me, because thats what the OP did! He's just saying he doesn't like the rules.

Yes because so many bikers come in to petrol stations riding with full female muslim regalia, fill up then leave without paying I'm sure.

No he didn't he was rude and unnecessarily gave the staff abuse. This is what is getting peoples backs up.

Why is it that a perhaps small minority of bikers think everybody owes them a favour. It really gets on my ****
