LiE's Diet and Training Thread

It will come together Delvis, I have been training since I was 18 and I'm 26 now. Although I did spend many years either doing things wrong or working abroad.

Aye it will :)

I 'think' I'll be able to do more than my PB of 110kg on DL now, I'm doing 3x8x72.5KG at the moment, certainly more left in me for a while yet hopefully.

Good days lifting, got the required 7 reps at 180Kg, pretty damn heavy :D

Followed up with 3 sets of 8 reps chins and db rows 40kg x 10 x 3 per arm.

2 more session this week then deload time, actually looking forward to doing a light week lol. Then the start of cycle 2.

Interesting chest session today. I needed 8 reps with 127.5Kg to set a new PB, but I couldn't lock out the 8th rep so only got 7. Not too bad really :)

After that I did something I've wanted to do for ages, 2xBW dips :D worked up to 80Kg and managed 2 reps which I'm very happy with.

So overall a really good day. Deload next week, it will be weird doing really light weights, but I'm looking forward to cycle 2.

Whats the main benefit to a deload week?

I'm assuming it's to give you an active rest so your ready for the next stage? Or is there more to it than that?

Pretty much, it's counter productive to lift heavy without a break, you'll just hit a wall after a while.

Thought so,

Quick question then, I'm doing Stronglifts at the moment and I'm in my 5th week and I'm starting to feel as if the weights are almost getting to much on the squat and overhead press (everything else ok). It mentions deloading on the workout sheet but only when you fail an exercise 3 times in a row.

Would you however recommend it's good to take one earlier if I feel I'd benefit from a break?

I don't want to do a complete break mind, maybe just lower the weights.

Currently sat at

50 Squat
35 Bench
45 BOR
30 OHP
60 Deadlift (mainly due to lack of weights / now joined a gym).

I'm happy with progress having only started on Jan 2nd but want to make sure I progress as much as possible.

Last heavy session tonight. Hoping to hit 147.5Kg for 10 reps on the squat.

Beaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast!

Will be awesome :)

I'm doing 3x8@75KG on deadlifts tonight, not going to be able to move after that going by last week.

Good session tonight, only got 9! for some reason I counted 10 even though my friend said I needed 3 more. Still it's good to keep a few reps in the tank.

Went on to do DB Lunges 25kg(per hand)x16x3 and RDL 70x10, 80x8x2.

Squats felt really nice, very smooth and the depth is pretty good I think.

Here's a vid.

Roll on deload and cycle 2.

Nice lifting matey :) Goes up like it's nothing!!!

Slight note, I 'think' you have a touch of bum tuck going on, probably just due to the weight mind, just though I'd say :)

Cheers :)

Yea got a bit of butt wink going on, personally I'm OK with a bit of butt wink it doesn't seem to affect me, even on the heavy stuff.

I know I don't need to say it but be very careful if your form is off a little, It's what's caused my back problem.

My form is/was off right at the bottom of squats, Just a little tuck at the bottom, So when I was heavy the last couple of times it's caused a disk to bulge and I'm out of lifting for a while.

The day it happened it felt like the elastic band snapped and I had to drop 165KG off my shoulders which went down almost as fast as I did. It was not so bad for the rest of the day but when I woke up the next morning it was a shocker, Terrible pain's down the back of my legs for a couple of weeks but finally it's getting much better ;) I can get in and out of the car now anyway lol

Pain killers and rest the doctor says :( I almost had my 200KG deadlift too before it happened.
