LiE's Diet and Training Thread

A lot of the usual stuff, but focussing on bringing the elbows back and squeezing my scaps.

Facepulls
Single arm cable row (going to experiment with different elbow heights, currently elbows tucked has been working well)
TRX inverted row
Heavy wide grip pullups
"Full can" lateral raises 30 degrees forwards of midline (need a shorter name...!) <-- more external rotator/supraspinatus, but really really awesome

My pecs are still really tight, but my shoulders are in a better position.
 
OK so maxes this week, looking forward to it. Quite apprehensive about doing deadlift maxes with my adjusted form, but at the same time it will be good to get some videos and see where form is breaking.

Tonight is military press and the goal is 85 :)
 
125kg BP x8, very good going LiE. I'm hoping to be there in not too long, please upload your 1RM video, not nuthugging as I'm not into that, but following your progress is interesting.

What is your bodyweight, btw?

Sorry one last thing, happen to have a vid of you doing SLDL? I'm trying to get my form sorted, it's a ****ing nightmare! :p

Yep, I'm not at all a fan of how "Stiff Leg Deadlift" seems to become "Deadlift only using your lower back and not your legs" when you get to heavy weights. Check out a few videos on sugden to see what I mean. Strong chaps, but I'm not totally convinced it's the right way to go.
 
yea.. he even walks away looking like his back is sore lol
RDL + DL are a great.

Quite a few guys do SLDL because their normal DL deviates so much. What I mean is they set up for DL but their ass comes up so high before the weight moves it's SLDL :p

Unfortunately, there is a complicated picture where having your arse higher is stronger. My current view is that you should never train your DL like this, but if it happens when you're maxing out at a big weight then fine. Same thing with SLDL/RDL, never train it in a broken position.
 
Just looks horrible....purely lower back :p

Throws all manual handling courses out of the windows thats for sure!
