LiE's Diet and Training Thread

New diet next week. Mainly fish/rice/sweet potato :)
It was going to have chicken but they were out so just bought more pollock. Pretty good macros - 100g of pollock is 99kcals and 22.5g protein.

OK so food prep begins for next week.
I thought I'd post up a few more details of the new diet and how I manage things.

So today I cooked up the rice, boiled in a herb stock to give it a little flavour. Upon tasting it I think it could use some more stock next time.

Sweet potato simply boiled and mashed up.

Burgers were made with lean mince, salt and pepper. Measured out into 100g balls and pressed. I then wrap them up.

3 days worth of food goes in the fridge for reheating/cooking and 2 days in the freezer.

Each day I'll be reheating the rice and sweet potato. I'll be defrosting and toasting a bun to go with the burger which I will fry in a bit of virgin olive oil. To go with my carbs I'll be baking 200g of pollock twice a day.

Bear in mind I work from home 4 days a week so it allows me to cook my lunches. The one day I do go into work I'll be cooking food the night before and storing in the fridge to take with me the next day.

Rice and sweet potato into fridge and freezer tubs. I'll be measuring out a daily portion each day on the scales.

I'll see how I get on with the pollock. I had planned half as much and stick with my usual chicken but as the supermarket was out I decided to go with more pollock.

Nice one :)

I need to do this more with the rice...I'm assuming I can cook a batch and that'll keep two days or something? Tend to boil a bit each morning, as well as me veg.

And how long would you leave your cooked chicken in the fridge for? I normally cook Monday and Tuesdays on Sunday night, then do Weds/Thurs on Tuesday night and cook Fridays in the morning or something...

I'll be following suit on the sweet potato though I think.

I've had no problem cooking chicken or rice Sunday and eating it on Wednesday.

Cool cool :)

Will have a look soon enough, need to go shopping and budget the diet in seeing as I've started up again

How smelly is the fish by the way?

I have never had a problem yet cooking up chicken on a Sunday, keeping it in the fridge and then eating it anything up to the following Saturday. Cooked meet stored in sealed tubs keeps fine.

OK so the Pollock. I didn't cook it properly due to putting it too low in the oven. This resulted in it having a rubbery texture and the flavour being off. I still managed to eat it though. I'll nail it at 3pm when I eat some more...

I had to say, eating 200g of Pollock and 150g of wholegrain rice feels like a lot but is only 375cals!

Did you cook from frozen? If you get it right next time, let me know - I tried Pollock from frozen and had the exact same issue, was horrible. Got 3 more fillets sat untouched in the freeze as a result!

Yea from frozen. It wasn't bad for the most part, but the thicker bits were pretty chewy and watery. Plain rice and badly cooked fish.. mmm tasty!
