Life/Job predicament:

It's probably better to reference the jobs even if it's very brief so that you explain the gap than just to have a period where you've apparently done nothing. There's maybe a judgement call to be made if there's dozens and dozens of jobs in there as it might imply a lack of ability to stick at anything for a decent period but I don't know your employment history so can't say for certain.

As Windle says you don't need to put down why you left a job although I have previously had on my CV a note for particularly short term jobs that they were during a summer break from uni or similar.

Have a look here.

The gap was only 2 months so is it worth it?

Thanks Zombiefan i'll try and implement that.

Compboyo, you're not funny.

Best thing to do is just look at the positives. Like you, sales isn't my thing. I had a 2 week temp role in a sales job and I stuck it out for just the first week because I literally couldn't do that any more but when they asked about it I just stayed as positive as possible. Said it was a 1 week role (even though it was a 2 week one that I quit) and that I learned a lot during it, even though it was just a 1 week it was one I still learned a lot from (yeah right) because I upped my sales from 40% to 80% per call within 1 week just by listening to the advice of my team leader and trying hard to learn quick.

You see, turn that crap into a positive and then quickly move on to describing other experiences whether they're in a job or not. In the end you quit, you can't undo it but you can try and make it as positive as possible by taking something from it. You didn't like the job anyway so move on and get one you like more.

In regards to the job with these people, make the choice. Simply talk to your dad and tell him you want to hold out for these people or talk to the woman your doing PR for and tell her you need her to guarantee you'll get the job because you need money but you'll hold out if you can get it from her.

Sorry, I thought it was a bit longer than 2 months although it's definitely worth having a ready explanation for that time even if you don't put it down on the CV. However having taken a further look there's a gap from March 2010 to August 2010 with a one month interruption where you've got a job listed, if you were doing something in that time then it's probably worth putting it down to limit the gaps in your CV still further.

jacking in a job that pays real money for some half baked fantasy about to start up through your mums friend is an act of insanity.

SO you hated sales ? thats not a good enough reason to quit without having another job to go to. Walking out on any job in this current climate is an act of lunacy unless you were taking physical / mental / racial etc abuse at work.

OP is indicative of why the British so called workforce is full of fail
