lite beers... why don't we have them in our pubs?

Well done on the weight loss Jimlad, that's an incredible difference

Out of interest were you left with much excess skin? I'm 5' 11" and ~17.5st, so could do with losing a few stone myself. Being left with excess skin worries me though :(

a little around my gut, but arms and legs and chest got the full work out in the gym for a year or two and gained some mussel which filled it out. loose skin is only really about for mega weight loss in older life, kids can loose lots of weight and the skin recovers.

hang on, i thought it was called Coors Light because it TASTED light, not because it was a diet lager?

no it's like 99 cals a pint

The only place i've noticed Coors out and about in town is the Giddy Bridge. Though i've never been in the Yates nearby so they may have it, or similar.

giddy bridge hey, will have to sink a few in there on my way into town next

Bear in mind the Giddy Bridge is a Whetherspoons pub, which you earlier expressed a disliking for :p

Also, it's not 99cal per pint is it? It's around 100 calories for a 330ml bottle.

Well done jimlad ;)
I packed up drinking for the same reason.
I just have a bud twice a month now.

Very impressive actually, well done to you really :) How long did that take if you don't mind me asking?

lost 5 stone in the first year then the remaining 3 stone (give or take a pound) in the next 18 - 24 months. it slowed down and had a few issues with breakups and family loss during that time. if i had kept going then i'm sure it would have been quicker. i tended to yoyo a lot near the end

that's for a 330ml bottle, not a pint. so as i said above, it's barely better than carling or carlsberg

still a fair saving over the night and in fat grams too. not to mention the sugar/fat cravings you get the next day. infact the day after a lash up i seem to crave utter crap :p

Lager in itself is a pretty tasteless way to get yourself gassy and drunk I find...

Maybe i'm getting old but I much prefer ale. Full of calories, but hey, its a bleedin pint of beer, it aint health food.

Place in the middle of manchester serves a brew called Old Tom, can be found in supermarkets in small bottles. Its really very nice... and its about 8% :p plus its like £2 a pint in this place.

Tbh given the choice between a light (refuse to use the american spelling) american "beer" or water, i'd go with water every time, unless my only reason for drinking it was to get drunk.

Lighter beers in pubs would be a great idea, Those people that come out and have a pint, And drive home, It would be safer to switch to light (Obviously it would be safer to have none) The people healthy eating like myself would definatly benefit from a low cal drink. Carling is 190cals I think, and I drink it becasue it's the lowest!

What? Why would lighter beers make the roads safer?

let me just point out the same company make the UKs no 1 selling beer , oh and coors light is stronger than that.

I don't see that as an argument that it is good, merely that it is popular but you can of course interpret the same information rather differently.

That's fairly normal because your body is trying to replace the salt/sugar and liquid that you've lost so crisps/chocolate/fizzy drinks all go some way to replenishing your body in that regard.
