Location location location.. (England) Advice Welcomed

Bristol is twinned with Mos Eisley ...... (in my mind)
Scotland is full of Scottish people
and Moon Man has plainly had his Yorkshire citizenship revoked on the basis of his first sentence alone.

Worcestershire is nice everything else is FAKE NEWS.

Ha yes, there is some Yorkshire places I love but couldn't afford, like dales, Haworth and whitby, where I was was a bit of a hole, always travelling to find a nice bit

Cambridgeshire is absolutely lovely, with great accessibility to London and yet still lovely and green. Just moved here myself and have called in love with it :-)

If I were to relocate in the UK it would probably in Newcastle Upon Tyne or one of the surrounding satellite towns. I don't know if it has what you want though.

I've just noticed the OP is in his twenties and can apparently move anywhere in the UK, has no job ties, has come into some money recently, and has few friends and family.

He's a comic book villian, isn't he?

If you want quiet and country but still with a bit of life and culture you have Stratford-upon-Avon.
Really? I work there and in tourist season (not this year) it's horrendous, and traffic is bad at the best of times. Fair few chavs/druggies too, but then you get that everywhere.
OP why limit yourself to 'England'? I'd be off to Scotland given the choice.

What makes it horrendous? The traffic?

It is surrounded by some of the most picturesque villages the UK has to offer (the Midlands being the king in that department) whilst still providing all the benefits of a modern, bohemian city :)

Agreed that the South-East (with a few exceptions) is now a massive hole.

I'd quite like to move to Scotland - cold doesn't bother me. Only thing is I'm a bit concerned at how things will look opportunities-wise if there's a split with the rest of the UK. There's also that issue that some Scots will always dislike the English which becomes more of a problem outside the cities IMO.

I like Cambridgeshire but a lot of the towns are now being massively over-developed which is a shame - it will put huge pressure on infrastructure and services.

A mate of mine recently sold everything, upped sticks and moved to Devon. It was a bit of a struggle at first but he seems pretty happy now.

I did a lot of research a while back and almost made a jump but the sale fell through. Still haven't made my mind up really so I'm focusing on being mortgage-free by mid-2021 and having another think about what I want to do. Ideally I'm trying to make a move coincide with having no mortgage and a career change. :)

I always like reading these threads, good for more ideas! :)

I live in one of those once picturesque villages, now more of a commuter town :p
The surrounding area is lovely, but I'd still move to Scotland!

Aw that's a shame, its always been a beautiful area although I confess noticing a million new builds popping up the last few years...

There's been a programme on TV lately about people selling up in the south and buying a much nicer place with land eleswhere, totally changing their lifestyles. I love watching that sort of thing.

Yeah my own village has more than doubled in size, without the infrastructure, and they're still building!

Think as a forum we all agree that Rhyl is lovely, idylic and the perfect destinstion for everyone, everwhere, forever.

I do enjoy North Yorkshire or Exmouth (out of season).

Yeah have you looked at Rhyl? It's lovely!

I moved to Cardiff area from Lincolnshire because of hobbies and interests. For me most places are similar. It's the geography you can't alter.

That's what I'd look for myself.

I love the highlands but for practical reasons I think I'd live around Falkirk, Stirling area. Close enough to Edinburgh and Glasgow, but not too close, and only a short distance to travel north to some of the most beautiful areas in the world.

Do you recall the title?

What seems to happen is the developers promise to build stuff for the community then conveniently forget about it as they finish works.

Much of a muchness in the UK. However 'nicer' places that spring to mind for me:
North Yorkshire (e.g. Harrogate, Saltaire, Skipton, possibly York)
South Worcestershire
Coastal Devon (think Exmouth down to Plymouth)
Coastal Northumberland (everything north of Newcastle)

If you've got lots of money:
North Cotswolds
Lake District

If you want very rural:
Scottish borders
Pembrokeshire
