Logitech G25 apparently out in UK in 15days

I think Ive stayed away from race simulator games, just cos I knew I needed a good wheel to make proper use of them at out of all the online type of games I think racing is more full of gentleman than the 5yr kids you get on FPSs/MMORPGs...

Though Im concerned that most Logitech wheels usually quite quickly suffer from wear and tear - will wait until I see more reviews from users to decide...

On the first point - I recommend you find a league to race in. Virtually all of the decent sims have several leagues. Sadly, there are still immature racers and 'wreckers'. It's not a really bad problem, but they exist entirely within the pick up style racing of open servers.

On your second point, Logi's pedals have usually been very shoddy. The DFP wheel itself is very well put together for the price. Mine is 2.5 years old and is working perfectly. The G25 pedals look to be a complete overhaul of their previous pedal design thinking, and the wheel looks even better than the DFP.

I go on several sim racing forums, and while you read about LOTS of pedal issues, Logi wheels seem to have minimal failings.

The stick can be used as a H-Shifter or sequential up/down, theres a switch somewhere to swap between. Theres also the flappy paddles behind the wheel depending on what you prefer to use.

The LFS community is full of decent chaps and chapesses, it's the only sim I really play but even trying out others and asking for a spot of help I have found that racers are very forthcoming and just want more peple to race with.

You do get a few idiots, but its to be expected in any online game.

Sorry I did mean the pedals rather than the wheels themselves - didnt make myself clear. I expect some wear and tear on the pedals - but for the price you pay for the top end Logitech wheels you would expect better. For something twice as much as their next model, I would expect nothing but perfection in all honesty...

Early Christmas present for me Im guessing - rather get this then go conroe

I too was wondering about how tough they've made it, especially that gear shifter as I can imagine it taking quite a beating in the heat of battle (so to speak).

I really want a wheel... i have never had one before... i certainly cant justify this g25 seen as i have only just installed gtr2 and have never previously played a racing sim.

Anyone heard whether OCUK will be offering these things and when?

I'm gonna order soon, I wanna do here!!

just would like to say.... another week of wait. im asking all my friends to get it so i can try it out :D

also asked my mum for my b day prezzy (my b day : 5th nov)

What kinda prices have ppl seen this at - the nearer to £150 the better for me...

Cheapest Ive seen so far is £180 - is OcUK getting these in?...

Just typed Logitech G25 into Froogle and got 5 diff prices, cheapest as quoted above by Frost but I've never heard of any of the companies.

Wow, that does look a really nice quality, and the pedals look like they're rather sturdy, and probably quite heavy. Certainly a good wheel for the money I reckon.

oo your like me, when i got the momo steering wheel and picked up the pedals i was shocked at how consistent the pedals push was, and how light it was...

i want something built by steel with some tread plates!!

edit : DAME THOSE PEDALS, just saw them. great find matey ;) i personally think this steering wheel is worth more than 200 quid. ( not that i want to pay more)

when i played a demo of i think gt legends, you didnt need to use the clutch, just told it to change gear :p

On GTL and GTR you can turn off auto clutch in the advanced options, the only main difference is stability when not having a good change and stalling when starting the car
