Logitech G900 leaked pictures

Quite interesting to see how they test mice tbh. Never even thought a mouse on a crane thing being swung back and forth on a large curved mat.

That's how people reacted when mechanical keyboard's cost that much and now it is considered the norm.

They can cost that much but don't have to. Mine was ~£60 and apart from the letters wearing off the keys over time it's perfect. It's not got backlighting mind, but I don't need my keyboard backlit, I need a good keyboard!

I can understand someone paying £140 for a custom mech keyboard but not for a fairly generic one. A few developers I work with have ones with no lettering for instance.

Logitech peripherals have been going up and up in price over the last few years, and for what is essentially a wireless G502 with a subtle shape change (and ambidextrous), charging twice as much for it is a bit much.

Still I'd like one, but I'm not spending that much.

Currently i use a G500s,Cant fault it at all. :)

It's got a pretty rubbish sensor compared to the G502 or this mouse, I think you would be surprised.

Really liking the g900 tracking feels perfect

Really wish it had a few more thumb buttons on left side though. Tried using ones on the right, but to easy to accidentally hit them

You're supposed to cover them if you're right handed aren't you?
Are they not mapped to the same buttons as the ones on the left?

Because the mouse is ambidextrous I'm 99% sure you're only supposed to use one side. But they probably left us the option to use all 4.

There's a lot of posts here so forgive if someone has answered this already...

Logitech have been very vocal about how this is faster than USB (thus proving that Wireless is not the crud it once was...)

But the wireless receiver for this mouse is USB ...

So it cannot be faster than USB, it can at best be the same speed as USB.

Now, granted they could be arguing that the transmission twixt mouse and receiver is faster than USB - fine, but then the data would be bottlenecked at the receiver (so, it will either ignore packets, or overtime will become de-synced ... as de-sync would eventually be worse, I doubt they do this).

So, other than being an OK mouse and proof-of-concept that Wireless is fine now (if done right - though unless they allow others to know about the tech then other wireless mice will still be terrible, so they wont sell many of these as the overwhelming perception will be that wireless is still bad...) is this all just as much of a gimmick as it seems?

I mean, it sounds great in the youtube video presentations, but very very little attention seems to be given to the fact that it's all snake oil - it's not faster than USB if it uses USB. And if it doesn't use USB and uses Wi-Fi then computers without can't use the mouse... computers with poor wifi will make it seem like it sucks...

Am I missing the point?

Short answer, yes. :) Long answer is you should realise that it's not just the connection technology that is a factor in how fast the information is sent, the electronics, the sensor, the transmitter, the receiver and the firmware are also involved in this and they have in the process of trying and succeeding in making them at least as fast as USB managed to produce something that makes a difference.

Not sure why you are mentioning computers with WiFi as this uses a custom receiver, no need for the computer to have wifi.

I saw a lot about this mouse before I bought one and I never saw anyone mention that it was faster then USB, I can't see that on the official product page either, what has been said a lot of times is its faster than some MICE including wired mice, that is the mouse itself, not the connection, not USB, seems like you have those two things confused.

Anyway, this is the best mouse I've ever had and doesnt feel any different to a wired mouse in terms of response but lacks a wire which for me is plenty worth it even at this price. Whether you can or are willing to pay the price is up to you.

I feel the same way and having to plug it in every few days to charge is small price to pay for the lack of wire the rest of the time :)

Ah I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and get this over the weekend. Still unsure about no dock and it may be too long for my hands...

Couldn't be happier with the G900 :)

Order from A***** You get 30 days to test it then can return for full refund if don't like it :)

Also what's your current mouse?. I think you said you was used to 200gram mice? this mice fills like a 90 gram mice on the front so light but i still notice the weight at the back

Yep I'm going to order from the rain forest this weekend. I have no idea what the 200g mouse was, it was a while ago but I much preferred the weight of that to the mouse I'm using now, Razer Imperator 4G (140g).

Not really worried about the weight tbh, worried about the length of the mouse. But as you said, I have time to return it if I'm not a fan of it.

Yeah had used it for a day of BF4.

Really like to ergonomics and it's light but the weight distribution is so on point for myself.

People say the plastic feel cheap, I'd suggest otherwise. Cheap plastic will melt overtime, but these feel really good.

I thought the Razer Imperator was meant to be light weight. I guess that 140 grams is with the cable. Not the mouse alone.

Think the length of the g900 will prob be ok due to the click design. Clicks fills the same no matter where you place your fingers. if in palm grip or claw grip etc

This mouse's weight balance took abit of getting used to. Because i used to be a fan of the steelseries xai/sensei shape/ Which was a 100 gram mouse i think. but felt lighter due to its weight being balanced. Then i got a zowie fk1 which i used at low sens for a year. But when i got the g502. I kept calling it a brick at first, And the game sensitivity i was used to on the fk1 wasn't working for me, as the weight got my hand Fatigued. And i found that i could play at a much higher sens on the g502 which felt comfortable due to more control.

But i still notice its weight. The g900 front weight glides like my fk1 which makes me wanna play at a lower sens again. But then i notice all the weight in the back when picking up the mouse to center it.

So i don't think a lot of cs pro players would use it. Not that i play cs. But the overall mice is just great. Great clicks. Nice scroll wheel.good shape. And the wireless is just awesome. The 3366 sensor in the g502/g303 is known for being the best sensor due to its responsive snappy filling. And you still get that in wireless mode.

Only reason i can think of not keeping it is because i'm not bothered about wireless and because i got a g502 that's only 3 months old, I dunno if i can justify wasting £135. This mouse is more for people who want the best sensor/wireless and lighter weight. But also hate the g303/g502. I fill that my gameplay is maybe better on the g502 even tho i dislike its weight

If your after wireless then i wouldn't look at any other wireless for gaming. I had a g700s that i picked up for £35 new on daily offer. I found the wireless to have a delayed smoothing filling vs g502.

The G900's battery is strong for its size due to the way this mouse uses less power then other wireless mice. The 32hours they claim is if you was to game to 32hours non stop with leds off. Considering i don't think many people would do that! It can last much longer. As desktop use is less demanding. and mouse saves power when idle

For me on weekdays The mouse can last a good few days from a bit of gaming/desktop use long before it hits 50%. Tho i only have my pc on around 8hours a day on weekdays. i have leds set to off. Dpi is set to on. But in the settings tab you can select if you want the dpi lights to stay always on, or only turn on for few secs when dpi buttons are pressed.

This guy pretty much some's up the mouse.

Thanks so much for the in-depth review. I had a look at alternative wireless mice and there really isn't much competition out there. I've gone ahead and ordered mine and should be here on Tuesday. I also need a mouse since my Razer is dying yet again, and really fancy a wireless mouse atm. I'm always having to drag my mouse to me because of the cable drag.

I don't think I'll mind it being base heavy since my Imperator is base heavy and I never lift my mouse up anyway. I've tried a FK1 and it was just too light for me, didn't feel right but then again, I only tried it out. I might of liked it after getting used to it.

Does the mouse have any sort of power saving? If it's idle for a while, will it semi switch off?

I myself came from a FK1. I'd say ambidextrous mice takes a while to get used to, but the G900 is again another step up from FK1 and feels a lot better than FK1.

And yes, it will automatically turn off after 30 mins of idle, and wakes up in a split of a sec when the sensor detects movement.
