Hahahahaha so true

That's the important point here. Like others in this thread I do tend to acknowledge drivers at a zebra crossing as it is somehow expected. Why is there a difference in etiquette at a pelican crossing? The law is equally specific - when on a zebra crossing or at a pelican crossing showing red (or flashing amber - cue argument) pedestrians have absolute right of way.You have right of way at a zebra crossing just like when the traffic lights turn red and the green man light is on,do you nod to drivers when crossing the road at a set of traffic lights too? i dont.unless its some hot asian chick driving

lol some people in this thread..
maybe we should thank you for not driving on the path aswell
To be fair out of courtesy I would always tend to acknowledge a driver if they stop at non-traffic light pedestrian crossing. Seems the polite thing to do.

I'm with the folks that do the polite thing and give acknowledgement of drivers stopping. Plenty around here just drive straight past. It's not unheard of that people just keep driving around here. I'm talking Zebra crossings. Not if there's an actual red light.
Same here, Always thanked people at zebra crossings, Never at a red light though. Some people just drive straight through zebra crossings, I'm not sure all drivers know this is law
