What a stupid thing to say. Everyone is angry and upset about these events, it's just the advocated reactions to it that differ.

But everyone would like a solution to the problem, just the more pragmatic of us know simple retaliatory responses by the citizens of this country involving violence won't work as a long term solution.
 
The very fact that these low tech attacks are happening is testament to fact the security services are doing a great job.
Arranging access to firearms and explosives for a "grass roots" terrorist requires a level of secrecy and orgsnisation beyond what most can muster without bringing down the security forces and therefore nullifying the planned attack.
The current penchant for hire a van, grab a knife just shows the networks are breaking down and the support systems are failing for terrorists of this type.
The solution is long term, working out why these people became radicalised and working to reduce the circumstances and causes in future generations.

I can't pretend that I really have the answers but I see there being no 'Catholic Church' or 'Church of England' like Islamic denominations as being a real problem. Islam is a bit of a Wild West of religions. It needs to be regulated. When its regulated and controlled it can then be Secularised and neutralised just like Christianity has been in the UK over the years.

Agree !!! We need to step this up and work towards controlling this situation at any cost necessary.

Agreed. It's already happened in Lebanon. Only a matter of time until an Islamic political party gains power. It will be easy to do when everyone else's vote is divided over relatively trivial things.

Have you already forgotten about the Manchester attack? Certainly wasn't low tech and looks like they didn't have a scooby he was producing a bomb although they were aware of him.
 
Image on sky news seems to show someone laying on the ground outside Wheatsheaf. They have khaki trousers, a black vest and silver canisters around their waist. Another 2 people in the background.

Not, like I said, "beyond what most can muster".

There will always be the exception that proves the rule.

It's seems Salman Abedi was well trained and exceptionally careful, using burner phones and hiding his communication very effectively.

I hope and believe that this type of attacker is becoming less common.
