London Bridge Incident

Just wow, people are really criticising an 8 minute response of being alerted to the issue and killing the perpetrators? Please just sit there for the next 8 minutes and realise what went down in such a short space of time.

It's defeatist to say "oh well, at least they only killed a few people in a short 8 minute killing spree". 8 minutes is too long. It should never have happened in the first place.

Nobody is making that point though, people are saying an 8 minute response of an attack taking place and the attack being stopped isn't good enough.

Nobody is saying that though. People are saying that the police did an excellent job to bring it to a close so quickly. Yes it would be great if it didn't happen in the first place, but that's not really within the remit of officers responding to the event. Complaining about wrapping it up inside of ten minutes is bizarre.

We can't have armed police everywhere in the uk at all times.
We could if the government put theirs hands in the pocket and gave more funding. While I commend the response time last night and acknowledged what an amazing job the emergency services did last night, the police force in the UK has been cut year after year.

You cannot expect the police to have enough people on the ground to be everywhere. Yes, we need more cops etc. I think we will see more and more visibly armed now.

flowers and butterflies and love dubby jibberish are not how we combat these extremists, they are fighting an apparent war, we need to fight fire with fire. If they want a war, they can have one.

When are you enlisting in the army then? Note, you can't take your keyboard.

Counter-terrorism funding has gone up.

Since the police ran away, leaving the terrorists free to rampage for EIGHT minutes until the armed police arrived, probably not very much.

Attacking the people paid an absolute pittance to keep us safe after constant budget cuts based on one witness report and a load of alt-right articles is low even for you. Absolutely pathetic. The police are not the problem here.
