London Bridge Incident

In a thread where people who change their Facebook photo, post inspiring quotes and talk about love over hate have been ridiculed for not doing anything of substance, are we now complaining that people that look a bit Muslim don't appear to be looking adequately upset?

After the Manchester attack a lot of armed police were taken off of guarding major public buildings and replaced with armed soldiers. The BBC said at the time it was to free the police up for other duties. It looks like that "freeing up" may have played a part in the spectacular response from the police last night.

Talking about those that are wearing specialist gear more commonly seen on high end US counter-terrorism units and army reconnaissance units and not really seen before on UK streets even by police specialist units or army.

Well as an Islamic state terror attack just killed 16 people in Diyala (Iraq) - Number 2 on the list of Junes Terror attacks (posted earlier) - Perhaps we could all make heart hands and add a flag for those guys too?

I know that that's what you were talking about and i don't disagree with you. I fly from Birmingham regularly and noticed some very odd gear being worn by "police" last wednesday.

Got some specifics or links? Not a dig, genuinely curious.

As a reminder of Boris Johnson's words quoted on CH4 news.

“Isn’t it possible that things like the Iraq war did not create the problem of murderous Islamic fundamentalists, though the war has unquestionably sharpened the resentments felt by such people in this country and given them a new pretext?”

I don't often agree with Boris but I find his statement about 7/7 reasoned and proportionate and I'd argue whatever your political leaning it should give us pause for thought in how we deal with current situations in the middle east and at home.

By the way, none of the above is excusing murderous idiots or standing up for abhorrent behaviour.
I think the idea of Giving the police another 10,000 officers wouldn't go a miss, while we are at it, not lying to the public about the current level of policing would also be a start!
