Because every single thread somebody like you chirps in with some deflection about white people. Young black men are disproportionately involved in violent crime in London so why deflect all the time?
Where have I deflected? I simply choose not to fall for headlines. Do you really think an epidemic of knife crime took place in the news story? Where have I said that knife crime isn’t a problem?

The reason I call out racists is because I’ve been on the receiving end of the remarks often dished out by these people and it’s not exactly a nice experience.

While contrarian points are probably unhelpful, discussing the entire spectrum of an issue shouldn't be dismissed just because some of it might be uncomfortable.
Maybe have some successful black people used as examples too? Only having people who say "Look at me, I used to be a gangster, now I'm not" isn't they best way imo.
This isn't specifically about race, its about a situation being in the capital where gangs feel comfortable to bring out long knifes and machetes in broad daylight, in Hyde Park in front if families, children etc.

Epidemic of knife crime? No, it is worse. Knife crime is clearly endemic amongst certain communities(gangs) in innercities in this country.

It's a country wide (well, big cities/towns) issue rather than specific to London, so it's going to take a lot more than Khan to solve unfortunately.

most of the Area I lived in was white , I think there was only about 5 black people in my friend circle of about 20
probably 70% of drug dealers were black but they were mostly quiet people just earning a living and not committing other crimes
I think almost all the fences were white guys in their 40s and 50s, not many drug dealers would take stolen goods.
Poverty is what leads to crime and drugs, it doesn't matter what colour your skin is, if you grow up in the wrong area there's an extremely high chance you will end up just like everyone else in that area.

But yes, successful people engaging would be beneficial. What I mean with ex-gangsters is that you take them along to the hospital post-stabbing and perhaps the perpetrator of said stabbing to show both of them the outcome of their behaviour.
They caused problems in Sweden as well, but it mostly got swept under the carpet by nutty far left government there.
We need proper investment not just words. We won't get it though.
