Long time no see. Upgrade time.

OK so to finalize this stage.

Many many hours of wiring. I know it looks awful, but there is just nothing you can do when faced with so much. Tidy safe and able to fit the panel is going to have to be good enough.

Note carefully where the front monitor wires go. There is literally just enough room there to get them through. So like I said, ugly? yes. Right? also yes. They come out like this.

It was there I realised something. The screen was not going to work on the floor with the PC plugged into the TV. There is only one HDMI out, and the TV was using it. I did try plugging it into the onboard with limited success. IE I got to see it working but it was refusing to see the GPU as monitor 1. I knew when moved to the desktop it would be fine, but obviously because of that it would not work as intended until it was back on the desk.

So with the worst part done it was time for a wedgie.

Which took several attempts. I got it there in the end, though.

Turn him back around.

Inside pics. The silver fan shrouds are gone, they distracted from the Proart IO cover IMO.

Besides with the additional silver and acrylic on the block it didn't need it.

Note I do not have the LEDs on in those pics. This is because the red LEDs look pink and washed out on photos for some reason. "Booting rainbow farts" though, look fine.

With the very dark glass on it looks much better with the red active. The front thing looks too bright, though. IRL it looks completely different to this.

OK so after 10 hours of Indy I realised I really should use the TV PC next to it, or it would remain there for gawd knows how long. So this morning I buttoned it up.

And then finally moved it into place. At which point the screen was connected and set up successfully.

And.

OK so things needing to be done still. I don't like the hole in the side of the monitor on the front panel. Obviously they had to do that, but it looks crap. So I need to machine a couple of side plates to be attached to cover them over. Other than that? I would say it is pretty much spot on.

So next it is onto where we began, the desk itself. Well, after my lil N64 project I have cooking.

Until next time.......

Well bugger.

Am currently trying to design something for an upcoming project so I jumped on the PC this morning and got to work. After about 40 mins the PC started crawling.

Rebooted it and it was still crawling through POST.

I then got "PC will not start due to CPU over temp!". Sure enough I look inside and no coolant is moving :( RIP Laing you did well for 14 years.

Had to order a new pump from Ali. Bummer.

Interested in your audio set up, that looks like some serious speaker gear!

Yeah it's pretty crazy tbh. It's also the reason I am so annoyed about the pump going out. I have a project I want to get done over summer and didn't want to be peeing with the PC lol. Thankfully I am now at my mother's with a working PC.

New pump got. No pics yet as I've no PC to upload from. Came with a free top which was good but what I like most is the wires into it are socketted.

Hoping to start tearing down later.

Well it was actually dead easy. Someone put in a drain for the first time ever. That said removing a pump from a res stack in situ was always going to spill some coolant so I put a towel in.

After about 40 minutes it was all back together, but, the new pump also refused to spin up. I am now wondering if the old one was actually fine, but for some reason would no longer start on 7v. So I had to run the new pump at 12v which is annoying but after not having the PC for a considerable amount of time I can live with.

Weird, putting a drain in is normally a sure-fire way of ensuring you won't have to drain the loop...only reason I put 'em in!
Worth a test of the old pump just for curiosity. Also worth checking the voltage you were applying to it wasn't something less than 7V...or backwards.

Well it worked fine for many months so gawd knows.

For now I can live with the noise. I need to print out bank statements and I've only got two weeks left so yeah. I'll deal with in in the fall when it may bother me. For now it can stay noisy!

There is nothing worse than being forced to do something you just don't want to do if not in the mood for it tbh.

10v would be nice tbh. Yeah I am sure come October I will be brimming with enthusiasm but for right now I have had my fill tbh.
