I've posted this on lots of forums already, and have yet to get an answer how to fix this.

CPU i7 6850K

Mobo Ultra Gaming Gigabyte G1 x99

DDR4 HyperX Predator 4x4 3200Mhz & 2x Corsair DDR4 2400Mhz (bought corsair to test other ram)

GPU G1 Gaming 1080

PSU EVGA Supernova P2 650W & Supernova T2 850W (bought another PSU to test another psu..)

Case NZXT H2 Silent Classic

CPU cooler Noctua NH D14 with 2011-3 mounting kit & Arctic Freezer i32 (bought Arctic because I had enought of removing noctua..)

I am getting 5 short beeps, which is CPU Failure according to bios codes. Check videos below for more insight.

Also noticed under mobo some issues BUT I was told Mobo is fine and these have nothing to do with this problem.

I bought it at **********, then RMA it to check items. they did test it 'three' times I t hink and told me everything was fine even stress test with AIDA64 was completed with no issues. When I tried to get any information from them what kind of components they did use for test purposes i never got that information from them. so I am wondering if I should send it back again, and get proper list of components that they did use, so I can buy the same and test it, which is stupid lol.

What I tried already :

Bought Corsair ram from QVL List (2x4GB 2400mhz) to check if HyperX RAM is faulty.
Breadboarding
Different rams in different slots, the only difference is that in any Channel B PC turn on/off and you can hear a little click in PSU, in any Channel A PC starts and after short while there is 1 standard beep then 5 short beeps.
trying to upgrade bios, removing battery etc.

My PSU and GPU both work just fine as I am using them right now. Problem occurs only when I try to start new build.
Mobo CPU Pins are OK,

TL;DR
5 Short beeps on new stuff
Apparently (according to ********** technicians) CPU is OK, mobo is OK.
Pins on Mobo are OK, CPU is properly placed insite 2011-3 socket.
EPS 2x4 properly conneted too
My PSU/GPU is not faulty, I am using it right now.
Corsair RAM (2x4GB) is from Mobo QVL list so should work just fine
HyperX is not from QVL list
All parts from current build are working 100% no issues, can't test new parts.

So I am out of ideas what to do, any ideas? from my point of view that should work just fine..

From the last two picks of the back of the motherboard it looks like a short circuit, there is a gigabyte rep on the forum maybe he could help.

GIGA-Man
Thanks for reply,

Thing is, I noted that. I did install mobo properly on standoffs and my Case is supporting extended atx and have plenty of space for it. I did mention that to ********** and so on, but they did tell me that Mobo was working just fine while they were testing it.. so I am like super confused or they lied to me to avoid RMA

You were given and RMA number of 00000000?

I will doublecheck after work today in emails, but on papers/invoice they send me back with parts, on first one I have Rma number, on second in same place there are 0's or empty slot. I can send you a picture of both if needed.

Oh, right. When first I got problem with those five short beeps, I decided to Rma it. Scan told me that I am not allowed to Rma it because it works just fine and i already installed product. I applied to Rma it within first 10 days.

On my invoice & docs related to 2nd 'test' by scan there is no RMA number, I did check emails and manager to find 2nd one RMA 431570.

Currently, I have no idea what to do. I think I will try to sell it as 'working' when it is not working for me, but on papers it works just fine. I simply do not have time and money to test every single new ram and so on..

That second pic is a damaged board. Did you return it to the vendor for testing or Gigabyte?

Granted it's 20 years ago and more but when I worked in local government, I looked after my local Trading Standards dept and they had a special place in their hearts for S**n. Don't believe a word they say, and I hope you paid by credit card.
Hello,

I did send it back go scan, as they instructed me.

Paid via PayPal which charged my visa debit card. Should I go to citizen advice with that or? I honestly have no idea what to do, other than send items back to scan, and try to get my money back

Okay, let start this all again for you, you can deal with us directly. How long have you had the board? If it's in warranty I can have it fully tested in our labs no problem. Mail the below address and reference this conversation in the e-mail. I will deal with it all for you Monday. It will need to be in warranty for me to get it repaired though... Still happy to test it for you if you like...

Hello,

Bought it in August as I was looking for upgrade on my old build. Had never imagined that something like that could happen..

I am going to send an e-mail right now with all details and stuff that I know, thanks.

Perfect, I talked to our RMA team who got your e-mail. I will make sure we look into the issues and give you a proper report on the issue.

Thanks!

I am most likely a little bit pain in the lower back to your Rma team, as I do ask few silly questions about things I am not sure of because it is first time for me to sending it back directly to Gigabyte, i will arrange courier as soon as I get some time later this week.

Thank you

You welcome, don't worry about the RMA team, I am sure I cause them more then enough pain... if you get any issues just give me a shout....
I did receive RMA form and already printed it out. I am going to send it on Monday or Tuesday, hope you likes sweets, i left you some gift inside ;-)

Hello,

I just received package, took a quick glance and...
Please, don't tell me this is how I was supposed to put HyperX memory into mobo since the beginning... But manual says it otherwise..?
Also can I remove corsair ram and boost up HyperX to 3000~ or should I leave it as it is, if it works that is

Thanks

Hello,

um.. It's still not working. What I am doing wrong? I just tried simple breadboarding with CPU + Mobo + GPU + Keyboard and I am still getting CPU Failure error after POST?

- Tried different PCIE slot, note those LED trying to catch

- assembled old PC, again, working just fine..

GPU is fitted properly, CPU Power cable is OK, Mobo Cable is OK. I am at loss what is going on.. :/

Can you remind me of the RMA number you were given from our team when you sent it directly back to us. I am back in the office Monday and will find out exactly what tests have been done, do you have any way to test the CPU to make sure it is not a fault perhaps?

They did send me pictures while it is working i'll upload those in a sec, so I am sure that CPU is not faulty, i think :). They did install all Rams alltogether, which is weird a bit, but so far I am fine with that. but still I can't get that setup running. I can't be sure what I am doing wrong. It is impossible to plug in CPU power or Mobo 24pin wrong way.. And those do work just fine as I am using both right now as I am typing this post from my PC..

RMA number is UKA-17B0085

Is it possible that my GPU is the issue here? It is GTX 1080 G1 Gaming, should I connect that Molex cable that is at edge of mobo ? But according to manual that should be used when there is SLI 2-way or more...

Tommorow i'll get my brothers GTX 970 G1 and his PSU to test my luck.

I do not have another Mobo that supports this CPU. In an e-mail that I got from your team they did mention that I should not remove CPU or RAM as it is going to be assembled. so All what I did was just plug in power cables, gpu and... that's it.

Gigabytes RMA team tested the board with your own ram and CPU?
And that the sent it back to you all preassembled?
Might be PSU not getting power to the CPU
GPU can cause a no boot I've found using Asus hero and Strix card on AM4 set up, gave a generic boot code error and then slapped in a working one and completes the boot.
Try the 970 first as it's easier, then try the 970 with the other PSU . If that all works , then PSU with your 1080 .
Should eliminate hardware one by one
Thing is, I am using this PSU right now, with 4770 build and still using 1080. I bought even Evga supernova 850 T2, just to test if PSU is faulty, same stuff. Same error. I tried to connect all three CPU power cables to CPU Power socket (Mobo got included three way power to better manage power) Didn't help at all. so PSU is not faulty 100% if both doesn't work at all...

If you can check videos, take a look at PCI_Express LED's that blink in weird manner.

Yes, I requested sending my components with mobo, they did send it back to me preassembled, as I did request that if it is possible in case i did assemble something wrong way (which was nearly impossible, I did assemble thousands PCs in my life as I've been doing that since i was kid and been doing that for everyone near where i used to live) I may have said that thousand Times but I have no clue what is going on :D

Funny thing is. I did buy 8700X month before that with x299 from gigabyte gaming 3 or was it 7. Same thing happened, i was like - No way i got faulty stuff, so I returned that. After month i decided to go for 6850 because 44 lanes, and why not SLI 1080 + some M.2 in future. But i got this 1 beep then 5 short ones. Is it possible to get super unlucky like that? I tried different power sockets, different power cables to CPU, SPU, Mobo but nope.

I will give it a try with 970 and my PSU, if not workings then with his PSU, other than that I have no clue at all what I can do about it. If it fails again i will try to either sell it or swap it? I have no idea what to do with my old stuff that I bought just to test if it works to be hones if it doesn't work at all... I am at loss :-/

GIGA-Man there is no need for that anymore, it is GPU. I did buy this 1080 on 06.06.2016 SN162341011828

Assembling the system outside the pc case on the Mobo box .
Normally you do this to check parts before build but 90% of people don't . Would eliminate any shorts if there was any from the case
That's what I call breadboard. I always do that :P

well. my friend. It is my GTX 1080 G1 Gaming. Works just fine with brothers 970. I am completly at loss, what can I do right now? I did pre-order this 1080 back in 2016, I am not sure even that warranty can cover it. Should I try to sell it and get 1080 Ti ?

So this is how it looks with another GPU, which is GTX 970.

What was a bit weird was that, 1st try and I saw only 16GB RAM, then i swapped to 1080, didn't work, then again to 970, and it did show 24 GB ram. well, What I am happy about is that I do know what is wrong, A bit ashamed that I did not get another GPU much earlier before.. so much money wasted, so much time wasted but what can I do about it, silly me. I will write to shop where I bought 1080 and see what are my options. I will ask @AORUS UK for opinion as well, just Wonder if it is Okay, when @GIGA-Man is already looking at things here

970 GTX G1
1080 GTX G1

@GIGA-Man Hello,

Did you check on what they did? Returns team can't answer my questions at all as they do not know. I would like to know if I can use HyperX 3200Mhz ram without Corsair 2133Mhz. As of now my HyperX runs at 2133 so I was wondering If I can just remove corsair and that would work or not, I was instructed by returns team to 'not change any settings and do not remove ram sticks' so I am at loss right now.

I will write to E suport regarding my GPU and its issue with Mobo & CPU, as I have no clue what I can do and what steps should be made from this point.

Hello @GIGA-Man

I may have a little problem with gigabyte repair team. I have yet to get reply for returns team but just in case if that would be possible, could you take a look at my issue again?

I just got reply that Gpu was main culprit to issue with 5Short beeps.

Anyway,

"
Hello,

In regards to this 2nd return.

Our tester and engineer advise your PSU is a unknown model and they are unable to test this. However our repair team believe the PSU is not the issue but your VGA has issues. The BIOS on it appears to be a Beta BIOS which is incorrect and is also faulty. Also a 3rd party appears to have cleaned the VGA with a unknown liquid which caused power issues to it. Please do not clean the VGA with liquids likely to cause electronic component damage. Also you appear to be using 2 different brand names of memory on the board. This is also incorrect and can make the board unstable. Only the same brand of memory should be used in all slots, mixing brands of memory causes hang issues or no boot if one brand is lower end. All these issues would create the problems reported to us. The VGA will be swapped for you as by using your VGA there is no boot from the board. Please be aware if the same issue arises on the swapped VGA it will not be swapped again and will be seen as user damaged. VGA is a 1070 same model. The motherboard continues to function ok as previously received. Please see their comments below and you tube video link using the swap card and picture attached. Our repair team are confident this item is 100% trouble free now that testing is complete.
"

So there are few serious problems.

1. I am not using 1070 but 1080 g1 gaming from gigabyte
2. I never cleaned my Gpu and never with liquid I am not that stupid, also Bios was send to me from Gigabyte eSupport team as "fix", I still should have emails regarding this.
3. Psu is not "Unknown brand" but Evga Supernova 650 p2 and it even got huge label on it with brand name...
4. Regarding Ram and different memory brands, gigabyte repair team installed it that way. I did send them back all memory that I tried with mobo and cpu I did not ask them to "make it work" like that because now I have 2133 with 3200 mixed in, when I asked them back then why they arranged it like that I got reply with something like "please insert memory properly" so.. I am at fault regarding this now?.. :/

Please advise how should I proceed
Thanks
