Looks like she is gone/going! (Mustang Sold)

maybe for once you could stop been a sarcastic little twirp.

I've never once personally insulted you so I would appreciate it if you would extend me the same courtesy.

I merely found it amusing that people were glad it had gone to an enthusiast when, as a true enthusiasts car, it would never have gone to anyone other than an enthusiast.

Hi there

So explain your post then please, it screams sarcasm to me. If you meant no harm then I apologise for my defensive nature but I am a little hot headed.

It was sarcasm - but it wasn't an insult and it wasn't aimed at a post you made, either, it was in response to digitalwolf.

I would imagine Simons post was on much the same lines - he found it amusing that people were requesting pictures of - of all things - the boot interior, and thus, responded with a friendly, funny little sarcastic retort which raised a few smiles.

HI there

Well thats fair enough, like I say I can just be a little hot headed in life. :)

Now that's sorted, could I get a picture of the inside of the ashtray?

;)

HI m8

Believe it or not there is not one.

A couple of cup holders though and ones extra large. :D

Glad to see you have most likely sold it for what you wanted.

I would have had it, had I been in the market for another 'new (read modern) car'

Lets be honest Gibbo, you are a true enthusiast, but you do sometimes come over a little over zealous about your car.. almost a little showyoffy (if thats a proper word!)

In the mean time, I am in the process of buying a proper mustang ;) none of this modern fangled stuff

I don't think Gibbo comes accross as "show offy" at all. If Gibbo thinks the same way i do (i love looking at pictures of nice cars and will sit there all day looking at a picture of the engine bay) then would like to give people the chance to see pictures of a car they would probably never see in their life. (this could be said for a Saleen Mustang or a 205 GTi 1.9)

Its easy to get pics of a car from google, but its just not the same as being pics from someone so close and be able to talk to them.

I think some people are slightly green even if they don't realise it.

Hi there

I can see your point of view, but I enjoy driving cars and even more so getting involved with how they work. So I like posting about my experiences whether it be ownership or test drives or modding. If people like me and other owners were not essentially showing of their cars as you put it then would the forums not be a quiet place?

I like the proper Mustangs so would thoroughly expect you to show it off when you get it and be equally interested in any modding you do and help too if you wish as all the same modifications literally do apply even to the older Stangs. I'd however never accuse you of been a showyoffy.

dont get me wrong, having met Gibbo a few times, I know what he is like in person its just the image portrayed on here. Its not just the pics, its lots of things. The 'official acceleration' thread was one. Just my own personal opinion.

Not so sure about the slightly green comment, there are plenty of people here with great cars.

Hi there

I can see how the acceleration thread might have been mis-concieved as an attempt by me showing my car is faster than yours so ner ner ner.

However the genuine reason for it was because I was sick of people coming along and saying oh look at my car it accelerates nearly as quick as that 4.0l car yet mine is just a 1.6l etc. etc. The threads idea was to clear this up and to educate people that something like a 205GTi for example won't accelerate like a Jaguar XJR. I can't help the fact my car was rather high up on the list. :p ;)

hence my other post mate :D

not sure I will be doing any mods to it, as its a 1965 numbers matching fastback.

If I do, the only real mod would be the engine swap. then play with the big engine. Along with suspension/brakes upgrades
I would certainly leave the original engine alone AND have the car capable of being returned to original state.

Numbers matching cars with all the history are appreciating rapidly.

I totally understand what you are saying and i can agree that some people may find Gibbo comming across like that.

I see my car as being a great car, but a car like a Saleen Mustang is totally out of my league at present. If i had the money i may not even buy Gibbo's car, but i appreciate the engineering/history behind it all and the work Gibbo has put into it.

The comments like "take a pic of the left indicator" or whatever would come across to me as somebody being slightly green, and having a pop for showing off pics of a fantastic car.

Then again i may have got it all wrong. :)

Ahh, dissapointing! but i think you have answered the question, will someone pay x amount for it after the mods, it turns out they will!

Corvette in yellow would be pretty sweet, i think ive seen the Z05 crusing around in america and they are nice motors. wouldnt particularly want to drive one day in and day out myself in the UK without a 2nd car but still!

do you still have the mitsu 3000 parked away somewhere?
