LOST..... How do you think it will end

So they didnt die with the plane crash at the beginning but died like as in the show (like jack in the end died of the stab wound from Locke)?
So Kate and Sawyer and the others that got off the island died much later NATURALLY?

My head is done in!!!

That's about it mate.

So what was with the flash-sideways lifes about?

If teh lifes on the island were real then the flash-sideways lifes must have not been.
Best description is purgatory, the flash-sideways were their "souls" meeting up before moving on together. Which I guess makes Desmond some kind of medium.

The flash-sideways were purgatory/the afterlife, those weren't real. All of the on-island stuff, them crashing, the Dharma Initiative, the light on the island etc. is all real.

I stoped watching when they ditched the darhma stuff, it was like watching a different show with the same cast. The little bits and pieces I've read and seen since have convinced me that I was right.

I kind of agree. The show evolved as it went along and I went with it. I really missed the who 'numbers' a DI stuff and how the last season changed towards taking the spiritual route.

I loved the 1st and 2nd season, all the Dharma stuff and science etc was wicked it all went downhill but I suppose this all happened when the writers went on strike and they were replaced IIRC as I read somewhere buried in this thread. It’s still the longest and only series that I have happily watched no matter how utterly complicated/hilarious the story got. I think the only problem with LOST is that they carried in for way too long milking as much money as they possibly could. It is still the greatest show on TV in my lifetime and I have tried watching many different series and none of them glued me to the TV like LOST did.

Can someone explain to me how Lock was able to walk again on the island?

If Jack fixed him in purgatory, then how was he able to walk on the island?

also why was Hurley the most lucky guy alive in series 6, while he had a bad luck curse before?

what did Juliet actually do when she set the bomb off?

Locke was able to walk again due to the island's special properties, the light and it's healing powers etc.

Hurley was lucky because the purgatory was a perfect existence for each character and how they wished their lives were.

When the bomb went off it blasted the Losties back to 2007 from 1977, so brought them back to modern day/their own time.

1. Island has healing properties

2. What the hell has purgatory got to do with real life

3. He was in a place that is not real and doesn't conform to anything, the losties created this place so his luck was created by himself

4. The bomb maybe never went off, perhaps just a release of energy from the swan. Either way, she saw the alt line (purgatory) and everyone jumped up to 2007.

Wow, the finale impressed me! So bitter-sweet, and such a perfect way to round out the characters' stories after 6 seasons. It works as a spiritual metaphor, but the Sci-Fi types will be raging at the unanswered stuff.

For me, without doubt one of the greatest TV series I have watched in recent years next to Battlestar and the Sopranos.

I agree with you.

I watched S3 and S4 and they were terrible (basically they stretched the storyline out), however, the final season was top notch (except for the final episode which was terrible).

I suggest you have a go at watching the final season, as you may like it. Some of the storylines are VERY strong. The storyline of the final episode was extremely weak and felt as if they writers had bitten off more than they could chew, so decided to explain the whole alternate reality as merely a figment of their imagination.

BTW. What significance did the numbers chosen by Hurley have?

There was so much potential, even up to the last episode, for Desmond being the only person aware of a dual timeline and controlling and utilising the shifts we saw in The Constant across timelines as well as through time. Ultimately the story would have been nearly identical to how it happened, gradually recruiting each person to help him with the rest, except they all get to live the lives they always wanted thanks to him.

But no, it was God's waiting room. Lame.

Hang on a second. Did Hurley not win the lottery BEFORE he got on the plane? In otherwords, it really did happen.

That about sums up the alternate time line. It almost makes it seem pointless.

I think you really need to be spiritual/emotional to be able to enjoy that last episode. Some people have said they were crying (or about to). At no point did I feel like crying.

The last episode was big let down for me, especially when you consider how good the rest of the season was.

I'm not sure about that, but they definitely piled on the schmalz to try and make you forget they weren't actually finishing the story they started, with some people it clearly worked.

I don't think people were moved because it was a spiritual end but more the fact that the characters ended up in their place together with those that they got to know and love over the years. After all we did get to learn a wealth of information about each character over the years and how they connect with each other.

If you put that aside there's very little else to be desired in the finale though.

The musical score and presentation + characters themselves is what made it even though the story development shifted dramatically the last 2-3 seasons, the creator (or new writers, should I say!) have used this to distract people away from the science behind the island.
