Lost Season 5 (Sunday, Sky1, 9PM)

I feel sorry the writers of Lost because it doesnt matter how it ends there is going to be quite a lot of disappointment about....

It's a great thing have a Lost community type thing where everyone can think of ideas but it's a bad thing because most of us have different hopes for the actual end

I can't wait for the final season but I think it's just going to disappoint me tbh.

I hope I'm wrong and its one of the best end to a show ever :) which it could be

Its crazy to think how Long that guy was playing as Locke for!

I was rewatching the first time we see our taken over locke when hes on the beach with a strange black robe over him

The biggest question for me is, how the hell did she survive that fall? Surely she should have been splattered at the bottom

That guy at the start has to be in lock's body, and also in jacks dads body to.

I also can't see jacob dead, i think he knows exactly what he is doing. I mean, the last few series has talked about the big almighty jacob, this last episode showed him off as some high and mighty clever guy. Only to get stabbed to death by Ben? I DONT THINK SO!. Why do you think he touched everybody ?

Claire and that young kid must have some other parts to play as well.

The fall...! Thats what the gf and i couldnt get over! Surely that fall would have killed, even more so with that magnetic pull around her!

But then we kinda remembered... this isnt the most unrealistic aspect of lost :P

Quite possibly, yeah. He couldn't kill Jacob himself, and he knew he couldn't possibly persuade Ben to kill him without a reason, so coming back as his daughter and instructing him to listen to the 'fake' Locke makes sense.

Makes perfect sense, which is why we didn't see them together. Locke had to "go find some rope", a convenient way to make sure he wasn't there.

tee hee, you say that like you actually believe we're going to get some ;)

I'm sure it will start slow for the first 4 or 5 episodes, gather a medium pace for the next 9-10, then accelerate to a rapid conclusion in the last 1-2, just like every season of Lost. I don't think it will be Sopranos style ending, people really get up in arms about that. The only other possibility is whether they ever plan on making films, in which case they will almost certainly annoyingly leave things open to some extent.

My current theory is "they" are the dead, i.e. a rip off of The Reality Dysfunction by Peter F Hamilton.

I did listen to a podcast by Lindelof and the other guy and they said that after the first episode of the last series we would have enough information to be able to come up with a reasonable idea of how it will end. We're supposed to have half the info now based on this series' ending...

TBH as many have said they can change things on a wimp, I guess they are able to say they had a plan back in the beginning, and we should now be able to understand where its going; but I believe its been very 'lose' and anything can change.

Also as mentioned already I whole heartedly believe the 'other guy' is what people describe as visions of past members/family. Now so sure about the smoke? but again in this instance remember Ben entering that room to summon the smoke? I reckon this is perhaps the bad man's lair and the good guy (Jacob) benneth the statue.

I'm gonna stop now cos' I've lost plot... literally. :o

Thing is though, wouldn't richard realise that the temple/smoke monster was bad? Seems a bit odd.

sadly not, im not saying it wasnt a good two eps, but the ending just made me and my mate laugh. Not what I was expecting from a lost finale.

What were you expecting?

End of Seaon 1: Walt Stole, Hatch Blown open

End of Season 2: Kate, Jack Sawyer taken by the Others

End of Season 3: Boat revealed to be someone else's other than Penny's leading us to question who the boat people really are.

End of Season 4: The island is moved

End of Season 5: Big flash of light possibly because of the bomb or a temporal shift

Each finale has been a cliff hanger leaving us wondering what happens next though I will admit they have increased in what-the-hell factor season to season.

Remind me, which was "The constant"? I don't remember them by name.

I think that was the one with Desmond suffering from temporal displacement as a result of leaving the island on the wrong trajectory in season 4. I could be wrong though.
