sure, you could pull a lass in a nightclub, take her home and then find out she is only 13. that still makes you a paedo.

3 of the lads i went to uni with all slept with this lass (on different occasions) who was a regular in a club we used to frequent. later on they found out she was 13 (but looked older than most of us!)
 
Search for "ian watkins never mind the buzzcocks" on Youtube and select the first video that comes up, jump to about 15 minutes 45 seconds. Massive coincidence, I would hope, at least. Or hows about that for a prophecy? :eek:
 
Outraged and shocked,

Loved their music and still do but I just cannot listen to them again because of his actions. That makes me a little sad because some of their songs were quite high in my listen to list.

In prison child abuse is the worst thing to be in for as an inmate isn't it? I expect him to be treated quite badly by other inmates.

Oh don't get me wrong - people should only be released once it's deemed safe to do so, in some cases I'd be in favour of keeping people in for life.

By not naming criminals, we risk them committing the same crimes again. Imagine if someone else had a child with them because they didn't know they molested their own kids, the thought is sickening.


And what on earth does "determined and committed paedophile" mean? Does one have to swear an oath to the cause to be given that title or something?

The difference between picking up an underage girl in a nightclub and actively seeking underage girls for sex is enormous.

A nightclub is an age restricted venue with staff employed to ensure that those who are too young do not get in. Therefore I'd argue that there is the reasonable expectation that all the woman you meet in such a venue are going to be at least close in age to 18. You can certainly not be blamed for believing an under 16 to be older than they are in an over 18s venue, since they've obviously convinced a number of staff members that they are over 18 as well. Of course this only works for as long as the girl keeps up the pretence of being 18. Iain Watkins actively saught under 16s for sex in full knowledge that they were not able to consent.

The first is a genuine error, bordering on deliberate manipulation by the girl involved, while the second shows an intent to commit an illegal act.

i know that. its how i was responding to a previous post (one about a determined paedo or something like that). and some guys still get done for pulling underage in clubs. as we saw in a recent case.

It puzzles me how he forgot carrying out these acts because he was high yet remember his password well enough!!

Media reporting the police were warned on several occasions but didn't follow through.
