45 FPS with RT and without DLSS on a 40 series card, probably a 4090 (according to Nvidia's video) with massive stuttering, yet it looks like a PS2 game. It's unbelievable how poor developers are this year and it's putting me off.
And people still pre-purchase or pay full retail price for half a product.

I can't understand why games aren't more optimised on PC, is it the fact that now they tend to be so powerful developers have just got lazy and rely on the brute force of the architecture it's running on?

Maybe the games are so big these days that developing then for multiple platforms means it's a struggle for developers to do so.

Anyway, I'm not sure ray tracing adds anything to the game at present, most hardware can't run it properly and I'm not sure many people notice the difference in gameplay, I know the games I've had it switched on I've not noticed it during gameplay (other than the fps hit).

I think it's still at gimmick stage.
Well DLSS 3 Frame Generation is being used as a crutch which is a pity for those of us with older cards.

Really what the **** is wrong with game developers these days, well tbf, it's probably not the devs fault directly, there must be some serious project management/budget issues and the rush to please stakeholders by hitting that deadline or/and resourcing issues.

Development industry really is poor now, lots of projects so understaffed and expecting very small team to be able to deliver products on a timely manner, I've noticed lately, more and more places are relying on students who are on their work placement year to do the bulk of the work as depending what year they are on or whatever arrangement is with the company, they cost nothing and are generally actually quite good, however, don't have any industry experience of best practices and so on and then when they finish their placement, that causes big issues as no handover has been done and usually things have been over engineered..... can only imagine what it must be like for the game dev space.

It's not the developers fault, havent you heard? It's nvidia fault, didn't pack enough cores on the 4090 man.
