LOTRO -

another tempting mmo! easy to get into? i dont have a lot of time so cant spent ages getting into it, ill get annoyed :D

LOTRO is an mmo i was too busy to play when it came out, but could deff see myself playing. Its just not worth it when theres hardly any low levels now and ive never played it before.

Lotro is probably the most user friendly MMO out there in my opinion.

You follow an Epic quest chain that takes you through all the famous landmarks/locations from Tolkiens books, the graphics are outstanding in some area's and the RP servers extremely mature with plenty of fun events. It's not one of those games were your forced to grind for the best gear nor are you forced to grind for XP plus its very casual and not in anyway compulsive.

**they revamped the whole questing and inital area's so that anyone can quickly level up and join the fun in the more populated places, also your not as dependant on having certain classes or people to group with**

Another LOTRO player here :) I'm on Eldar which is pretty quiet a lot of the time. Met some excellent people though but thinking of getting a premium account and moving to one of the more active servers. Just got one character at the mo, a lore master called Thereid lvl 19.

Wanted to have a quick blast this morning but I can't log in. It's telling me my password is wrong, it also won't send me a password reset email. Is there something wrong with the servers today and does the pass reset email take a while to come through?

Every thursday is maintenance day Lyon from 8am through to about 1pm, so it's maybe worth making another password reset request as it may not have been processed the first time.

I've been trying throughout the day :(

I'm a little bit confused, after I finished reinstalling the game it had remembered my old user name, when I try to log into Codemasters Online with that username I can do just fine, but if I click reset password I get taken to Turbine which also tells me my password is wrong if I try to log in. It's been so long that I can't remember what's what, are these two accounts not the same? I usually use the same password, so i don't understand why I can log into one and not the other.

That kind of sounds like you have a US client (Turbine) rather than an EU client (Codemasters) or something like that

Oh ****. That's one day and 9GB wasted

Cheers, I didn't follow the link in the welcome back email, but rather googled the lotro client, maybe that's it.

Decided to pick this back up for the free trial weekend. Finding it quite boring as everyone I knew has quit now :(.

Any OcUK'ers play on Snowbourne at all? I'd say its fairly vital that they can handle my noob skillz :p.

Just got back into LotRO myself after about a year or so not bothering with it (bought a lifetime sub at launch). Eldar does seem to be quiet a lot of the time. Can't be bothered restarting on another server though - it's taken me all this time to even hit level 50 with one character, and only just got to Moria (talk about taking it slowly).

I gave up with Lotro after the other recent Come Back week offer.

Depsite enjoying some of the content, I simply found a distinct lack of interaction between players... and promptly gave up.

I admit a week isnt much to give a game on trial, but still...

Anyways, I've headed back off to Turbine's other game, D&D Online. I'm playing on the NA servers instead of Codemasters EU servers, far far busier, far more players and the last three months of updates have significantly improved the game from this old die hards perspective.

Was so good to log into a MMO and have the General chat channel full of people talking, and full of people with a decent and mature attitude which is what D&D Online has always been :)

A greatd eal of your issue might be with everyone being over in Mirkwood the expansion zone launches a couple of weeks ago and enjoying the new conent, it can leave other regions sparsely populated.

New skirmishing, which i think is fantastic, especially in group play.
