Still no call from me but I'm seeing it (already have and sat in it at Goodwood) on 9th October...wonder when I will get my call? When did you put the deposit down? Is that £5k in total now then?

I deposit on July 6/7th can’t remember exactly and yes 5k

In short great to discuss a car with someone who has driven it and had a role in engineering side etc and really knows their stuff.

So final on road price with all options will be 79-80k !

Ask him if customer cars are getting the wheels spacers that were on the press cars

Or if not, if you can see one without them fitted so you know what you're getting.

When I go view I’ll be looking out for these spacers one would hope the final production wheels will be correct offset to not require spacers.

Check the ride height too ;)

The driving dynamics car wheels were much further in and the ride height was a lot higher

Yeah it's standard "Press car doesn't represent the final product" situation

It's just the press car looked so good with that stance :(

I shall be asking the question then that if the car I see an example of is what I’ll get stance wise and if they say no that could very well be me out as I’m not planning on modding it needs to look awesome out the box!

Lotus sit low like Porsche and generally no issue with speed bumps.

Stance on the Spyder is spot on and it’s also very low but never an issue.

Will be interesting how the Lotus compares as the 987.2 are the highlight for Porsche in feel and lightweight.

You probably already know this, but the blue show car is running different suspension. The actual finished car will sit a fair bit higher up.

Yup

Unless Lotus has clarified the blue one is the "Sport" chassis?

Blue car had 15mm spacers too. In reality the chassis will drive better on the finished production car I'm sure. Just won't quite look like the blue one.

Lotus informed me sports and touring are same ride height, the change is only the damper.

The press car looks a tad too low to be fair and the dynamics car a tad too high but saying that most photos taken from that angle tend to make a car look high whereas when looking at them in flesh they look fine.

I do know that the other wheel designs as seen on the dynamics car are no longer available and now the only wheels available are the forged V shape wheels as seen on press car in black silver and diamond cut. Decision made to help speed up build process and also shortages.

Hi there

So Lotus confirmed the blue car is a show car and not production spec, it sits lower and the seats have higher seating position.

The grey car known as dynamics car is at final production ride height and they don’t have spacers fitted. However the wheels seen on the grey dynamics car won’t be happening and will only be the forged V Spec option and no spacers requires and 20” all round, he says look is spot on but you’d expect that.

So the grey car is how the car will sit and the grey car has no wheel spacers fitted. So post more pictures of grey car and Lotus also had their first showing last night anyone attend and get pictures?

This is the dynamic handling car, so this car has the correct ride height and has no wheel spacers:

To me the stance looks pretty spot on parked and when moving seems perfect. This is how the production cars will look but of course the wheels in this video are no longer an option so production cars will now only come with forged V allows. This car also has the Michelin Cup 2 tyres so a car on a the Goodyear tyre might not look quite as good stance wise as Michelin Cup 2's generally have the best chunky sidewalls of any tyre available.

Will be a shame if the car I get to see is the show car, ideally I want to see this car in the flesh with the correct wheels fitted. I think Lotus should be throwing a set of the correct wheels on this car and also maybe try to get a few more dynamic cars or production cars built and scrap the whole show car idea, I know other marques do the same but be nice to know exactly what I am getting for my money and I don't really want to have to modify a new car in anyway at all, most modern sports cars these days are now spot on out the box.

Had the call this afternoon as well having placed deposit on 7th (day before Goodwood). I'm on the undecided list until I see the car in Birmingham on 11th, I'd love a V6 but don't think I can justify spending that much.

Just watched the Bell and Colville livestream of their event. Looks quite good next to a crowd of people and with people sat inside, gave me a much better sense of the proportions of the car. I have to say, I'm not sold on the steering wheel one bit!

Yea their older, pre-airbag steering wheels were much better. You could properly get your hands round them and grip them.

After that and in recent years they started making them too fat, like other manufacturers have.

Is this still available to watch?
Was it the blue show car on display?

It was the blue car yes. The stream was on their Instagram (where I sent you the pic from) so it might be in their story/on igtv.

Just had a call from Oakmere, apologising for not getting back in touch with myself.

Confirming I am 31 in their queue, they also informed me the dark verdant is very dark and very similar in colour/shade to dark green the Lotus Carlton came in and as such it may not be for myself.
I said if I go ahead with the car and then totally love it, their is a strong chance I will order another in 2023 when the base options are opened up and configure a car exactly how I would like it, orange, bucket seats, V6 manual etc. He confirmed its probably a good idea and he thinks the cars will be swapping hands for overs in the first couple of years also.

Popping down on Sunday to drive an Evora 410 Sport manual, to give me a good idea for ride quality and the manual just to make sure I am happy with the sports chassis option.
