Low cost business idea thread.

I thought the Moss side Cider project was an excellent one.

edit: it's not just excellent, it's genius!

Even if the business is doing badly, you don't care because you are all scrumpied up!! haha

Of course not. The more you share the more likely it will get noticed by the retailer. I was amazed when they got delivered. Opportunities for decent profit like that though are few and far between :p

THIS ^

couple of years ago b&q had a mis price on a top of the range fancy cooker hob. It was something daft like £20 when it should have been £2,000

everyone went silly ordering 10 and 20 of them, they all got rejected / refunded

I ordered one and it turned up :D

Thought I would help people who might want/need a way of making money by suggesting some business ideas that they can do at home, in their spare time or as a full time job. Seen as apparently there aren't any jobs out there, this is my contribution.

Please keep this on topic and I will ask a Don to tidy it up if it needs it.

1. Content Writing: You research and write unique content for a client, via ODesk and similar or directly. You can earn between £1.50 and £100 an hour doing this depending how good you are. The fact that most of us on here speak English as a first language is a major plus.
Costs: Electricity, a computer that will run OpenOffice or equivalent (a Pentium 1 would do this), an internet connection (56k would do), and a desk. Software such as open office is free.

Links to the people that pay £100 per hour, please. I have written unique copy for years and have hundreds of articles published. A hundred quid an hour is unheard of to me. It's well-known within the industry that few writers make anywhere near good money.

If making money was that easy everyone would be doing it.
I've not seen one useful tip on here yet

buy 100 dell inspiron 1747 HDD2 bay caddies for £1.99 each and then sell them on ebay for £49.99 :D

can't do it now though as they are available from hundreds of places

nice whilst it lasted

made thousands, and pee'd the lot up the wall

did this for a few years

£300 a night but that did NOT include hanky panky

usually just going for meals, work parties etc etc. Pretty much women who can't get a fella, rent one for the night. It was ok for a while.

Exactly!

Do you have to be good looking and great at conversations? I'm thinking that this might be a stupid question. :)

I wouldnt say amazing look, just generally good looking, some desperate women out there,

as far as im aware, its them sort of prices for usual wining and dining.. and if you want to go the extra mile with them, you get paid a lot more :P

I'm not sure you can class bitcoin/litecoin mining as a proper income/money maker...

The market is billions of dollars, its viable if someone can capture a percentage of that. So that'd most likely be a website of some sort used by many people, in mining, purchasing, exchange or transfer. Its possible but not without skills in html, etc

I'll add a random one, scrap dealing. Not so much the big raw metal but parts on cars, certainly theres a market and some expertise required. Then you market to the common sheeple.
Again like 'mining' its a growing market, which means potential for gaps or opportunities to new comers especially innovation, efficient solutions

I have written unique copy for years
On which subjects would that be. I used to have a landlady who reviewed tech products for companies, trying to save them from expensive mistakes

no offense.

I'm not totally deaf, maybe 50% in both ears, but it makes polite conversation very hard.

What you say??

Create a fantastic mobile phone game that's really a Bitcoin mining client, get millions of people to install the app and play the game and you get the coins

5. Buying then selling domain names:

AFAIK this is basically illegal. If you buy a domain and sit on it without using it for the sole purpose of selling it on then you will be forced to give it up for free.
