Linus himself seems to have fallen into the trap of the new American Dream, which is make it big, and then turn around and spit on any authenticity or professionalism you have, and instead ride your charisma and amp up your personal greed to the max.

I've (roughly) heard it said that the climax of the American dream and accepted culture is the scam. The second prize is to be scammed, proving you have (had) money in your pocket, and therefore you have worshipped your betters (those who scam you) and have some worth that way servicing your dream vicariously.

I never subscribed to Linus or anything from his company because his work is trash. Sure, the odd mega-high tech weird thing he got sent and made a video about, I may have seen that and appreciated its uniqueness, but I was always aware his popularity was an unearned privilege by any standards I hold.

Fingers crossed the scrawny corrupt ****** and his business model tanks on the back of this, like it deserves to.

The thing is, it's been on a steady decline for at least the last 24hrs with no sign of slowing down, it's about to dip below 37K in the next hour or so

I haven’t watched the full GN video but have watched their response in their latest video. Seems like folk are focusing maybe a little too much on the Billet debacle and not enough on their inaccurate testing and reporting. I would watch the original video but I’m concerned there will be images and/or video clips of Linus in it.

It's not going to happen, not for any other reason is that Linus may be the face if LLT, but they've been equal partners of the business and built it up together over the years. It's just as much her business as it's his. Breaking up via a divorce will basically end the channel. And I know neither of them will want to kill their golden goose.

And I don't want to make crass assumptions, but it's not really in Asian culture for women to dump their husbands unless it's extreme circumstances (severe domestic violence etc). But for sure he's sleeping in the spare bedroom/couch for a very very long time. It might even permanently damage their marriage in the long run. I don't think she's going to feel the same about him again after this, certainly some loss of respect. He'll be in the dog house for months

This is exactly the right response.
Seems to me that the new CEO has no issues reading the room.
If allegations are targetted towards one or members of staff I expect them to be suspended pending completion of the investigation.
 
Now anyone who has ever had a semblance of a tech channel on YT is trying to jump on the bandwagon covering the story/controversy LOL...

What The actual **** am I reading. You people actually believe that a debacle about sloppy testing and mishandling of an item is going to seriously damage their marriage. Really!!!! You actually believe that?


Someone asked a many pages back what would it take to end this controversy. I wrote up a response but I decided it was poor taste but you know what I don’t care.

Some people won’t be happy till the company is bankrupt, his wife divorces him and takes everything and Linus off himself. That’s when people will feel like the situation is wrapped up nicely. I lied they would want to spit on the grave as well.

As said it’s only 10% of that revenue stream. I am sure they got much more profitable streams such as Merch and large sponsorship deals

If the floatplane is really hurting their finances like right now then Linus wouldn’t have been so bullish.

Maybe it will change by Monday next week. Who knows.

Some of it - though even at its peak for example his early video on G-Sync was riddled with inaccuracies but still used as a reference for a long time by people who wanted to put G-Sync down :s
 
I don't see why his marriage would be affected by any of this lol

Not unless the investigation finds out that Linus engaged in physical sexual harassment/abuse of the complainant(s). At this stage there is zero reason to believe some errors on reviews, auctioning off a block, rambling statements not taking responsibility of said errors and a former employee complaint would be affecting that

As for working employees hard to push 25 videos a week, I can't see that affecting the relationship either - especially not as Yvonne is the financial person at LMG, she sees the money coming in and would probably be in support of how the business is running
