lulwut windscreen fail

Won't have most of the car resprayed by now?, you seem to have had a bit of paint work done.

Usually these things happen to me, so I'm gonna hold my loling for another time.

TBH this is absolutely outrageous, how were they to know that you didnt require the vehicle straight away after the fitting for business for example?

I think you should press this as far as you can, its rather a large error. :)

Agree with Jez. Fox you seem to be the type of person who would take this as far as you can but you seem to be relaxed about the whole situation.

Are you going to shame the company then and say who they are?

What exactly are you expecting them to do?

I'd be absolutely screaming at their head office and after a goodwill gesture out of principle, this is an absolutely stupid error. What if he had not had a secure dry parking space for the vehicle? They even offered to drive it (illegally?) without a screen installed, in the rain. Its just mad.

Reading the thread though it looks as though Mike is already complaining about a paint issue anyway, so good on him for that, least he will get some paint out of it.

I'll name and shame once the matter is finished. There is damage to the vehicle and BMW have quoted for its repair, once the matter is resolved I'll happily name them :)

I never had you as a 'Mike' for some reason...

or the same month and year DoB as me! Me being your elder! :p

Thats pretty bad on the scratched wing, after all that with the windscreen!

Personally I don't see the problem, if fox was majorly inconvienced by it which it doesnt sound like he was then I would go ballistic.

What goodwilll gesture do you expect? A bucketload of cash for something that didn't actually happen?

I really hate people who do this and kick up a fuss for something that didn't actually happen, if he had to have a car at 6:30 am tomorrow for an important meeting, then fair enoguh I would expect them to rent a car and give it to me or pay my car rental or similar, it's just a simple mistake that anyone could make. No harm done.

You're missing the point that the windscreen company don't know this. IMHO they should give a massive discount on the screen - or if it's on excess then pay the excess.

If they've damaged the car then make good the repairs and throw in a valet or such like. Simple, cheap gestures, like this make most people forget the bad bits (or at least live with them).

At least you have a bloody windscreen.

Been waiting for mine since April. Considering asking the insurance to write it off and buying a non-Nissan import to replace it. (Chaser or Cosmo currently at the top of the shortlist)

This to me is the biggest mystery of this forum, ever. Why on earth didnt you simply buy a quality UDKM car with parts which are readily available. That cefero thing is just...strange.

If they write it off you will get nothing for it, so i wouldnt do that.

should have got a Mondeo.

Are you insane?

You want to get rid of one rubbish import that nobody has ever heard of and replace it with yet another import that nobody has ever heard of and probably has the same parts problems in the UK?

should have got a Mondeo.

Company car coming in december will be either a Focus or Mondeo (though I'm going to try to persuade them to get me a Legacy diesel instead) so any replacement import will be purely a toy

That's for another thread though, this thread is for laughing at Fox's windscreen and the incompetence of Autoglass.

Excellent news, I had a meeting with a lovely chap from the company today who has authorised my preferred bodycentre to go ahead with the rectification work. As a bonus, which I guess is nice compensation, the bonnet will lose all its stonechips. They need the car a week though
