Luther.

It was okay ish but they were trying too hard to turn Luther into a low rent Bond.

Far fetched and very implausible. Donning his coat like Batman putting on his outfit then going up on a roof to look out over London. Cars crashing at high speed in Central London yeah right etc etc

So assuming they make another he is now going to be a secret Govt agent.

A good start and a promising plot which from Piccadilly Circus ended up being just ridiculous. They should have killed him off at the end to spare us from a sequel.

I think it was more the need to spend that Netflix budget that took it away from its BBC budget limitations.

The coat was surely just a call back to the TV series as an in joke.

My wife wanted to watch it so we stuck it on last night.

Absolutely ludicrous stuff really. It actually made me laugh once or twice about how stupid it all was:

Mum at crime scene "Promise me you'll get my son back!"

Mum visiting prison "You promised me you would get my son back!"

Andy Serkis wig alone was a bizzare choice. He went to all that trouble of killing people and having them "on ice" in Norway for years (Norway isn't frozen in summer) only to use some of them to make a 30 second trailer for their red room in a random mansion. Seems a bit risky to do that doesn't it? Transporting bodies across borders.

Piccadilly Circus sequence was poorly shot. Why would people committing suicide cause drivers to crash at high speeds like that?

And the end with the helicopter! They knew exactly where Luther was and were already kitted out in diving gear to save him - psychic rescue service.
