M6 Toll Closed by armed police

I'm surprised I didn't have the anti-terror police aiming a gun at me when I went away a couple of weeks ago. I use an e-cig and 'drip' it which means I carry around a little unmarked bottle around and pour the liquid into my e-cig (which is metallic doesn't look like a fag) before producing 'smoke' (vapour) from it.

After a couple of puffs on the plane I stopped when I realised someone might freak out if they saw 'smoke' emitting from my seat and a bottle of chemicals in my hand :D.

All the planes I have been on have clearly said they are non-smoking including e-cigarettes for quite some time now. Did yours not say so?

All I did was pull out my headphones jack from my phone which was in my top coat pocket when suddenly a woman starts screaming about a bomb or something!

It's a show of capability in the event of something happening during the games, the whole world is watching us and we just flexed our emergency services and rapid response muscles for them to see.

Or it was a couple of stoners rinsing off a bong on the bus.

Kill 1,000's?

I know it's a Megabus, but still, this isn't India.

If they were on their way to somewhere, using a method of transportation (say i dont know, a bus?) then their end-target could have been large.

The coach was heading to London, hence the mass attention from the police and MOD.

You're all complaining about the amount of police etc there, buy you would all say the exact opposite if a bomb did go off when it parked up in central London.

I'm actually quite glad there were loads of armed police etc.

Nope, it said no smoking but no mention of e-cigs.

A quick google seems to show they are not technically illegal yet (although signs the US is moving to make them so in their airspace and on their planes).

I would be interested to know if they would set off the detectors in the toilets. The last plane I was on I specifically remember them saying they would but it sounds dubious

I don't get how this played out. OK, so a guy on the bus starts doing something which produces smoke/vapour. Doesn't anyone else ask him what he is doing? Can't they smell whether it's teargas or something? If there were no ill effects from the smoke, what did they say to the police contact about what the problem was? "There is a guy on the bus making smoke and although everyone is completely unharmed we believe he is a terrorist (but we are too shy to ask him any questions).".

Guess we'll have to wait for more details, but surely a regular police officer could have dealt with it if there was no-one on the bus shouting "Alla akhba" or whatever.
