I want to get a 4 core 3ghz, I will never ever ever need 8 cores :D 6 of em will be off most of the time lol

2Gb, 4x512mb will keep up with any mild PS/Video work, CS3 should be out next year aswell. Education discount too :D So I hope I can get a cheaper 4x3Ghz one :D

Im at a puzzle tho, I have a 3.6ghz C2D + X1900XTX rig, but my Mac Pro could game... I think Ill keep both for gaming :D

FYI: I enquired about that EXACT spec and you can get it for £2800 on Education (with 23" HD Display) :D

Depends if you wanna hold out for the new year though? Personally, I am. Just until Macworld anyway.

Thank you :)

I ordered my MBP last Monday - and it came a day earlier than Apple had originally predicted (even after connection delays).

Although the wait is excruciating, they usually do arrive on the predicted time which is usually 1-2 weeks.

My C2D MacBook (I sent it back for the MBP) took 11 days to arrive.

Hope that helps :)

Just bought the "entry level" Macbook at £749, had my laptop for about 18 months now and felt like a change...It's basically for surfing, email, etc etc.....No games or anything to heavy going....I have never used a Mac in my life, so let the learning curve begin.....Not even taken it out the box yet as you can see......I'm calling it this years Xmas pressie to myself :D

cheers fellas, I actually signed up as liamC but for some reason I was activated and it wouldn't log in! (I didn't forget my password!)

I've think the 17's just look strange with the 'chin' - 20's look fine IMO.

No idea why they opted for the black spot for the webcam; spoils the front of it a lot IMO.
