*** Macbook Pro Retina 13" ***

Grr I'm at odds. Wanted to order a 13" Macbook Air but the 13" Retina Pro now just seems like it ticks all the boxes and isn't a great deal more.

It's almost as thin and light too!

Well I went for the 13" Air with 8gb ram in the end over the 13" rMBP. Couldn't justify the additional £400 for purely the retina display. I'm sure it's great and all but the Air screen is still excellent and a lot of stuff isn't optimised for Retina yet anyway.

The rMBP 13" is too expensive for a laptop with no dedicated graphics chip. Either go for the Air and save the cash or get the 15" rMBP.

I take it the ram isn't self upgradable?

I really really want one...I'm umming and ahhring about ordering one, specially as I don't have a laptop right now! Annoying!!

I'm tempted to see how I get on without a laptop and see how well I survive.

RAM's soldered on mate, which leaves the old school MBP's as the only MacBooks with upgradable RAM.

Ok, just so I know.

Tbh I don't do anything straining on a laptop, I got my iMac for that...the only reason the RMBP attracts me is the weight of it, I won't need a CD drive so I'm happy to sacrifice this.

If the older ones weighed the same the spec would be fine and I'd have it in a heartbeat!

Meh don't know who I'm kidding, it's a matter of time before I buy one :p although I've spent too much on new hardware this year. :(
