And you would let 2 and 3 year olds play near the road would you? lets keep in mind the age of these children.

Would you let your 4 year old play in the garden?

They were just unlucky not to be there. The people responsible obviously wanted her in particular..

If thats the case, were they really unlucky?

Is it not the case that the parents had done the evening meal thing the previous evenings as well? Therefore, if somebody WANTED that child specifically, they could have watched, noticed a pattern, and taken her?

your right, they came through the window so it was GOING to happen. No question about it.

Are you sure? The parents had apparently followed the same routine most nights... If that's the case, then the abducter most certainly wasn't lucky the parents weren't there...

Where did I say 2 or 3 years olds are ok to play in the street?

TBH at the moment I dont care as much for the girl as I do for the parents. How people can be accusing them of negligence etc at a time like this is just inhuman

I'm pretty sure the bedroom was locked. So going back to the neglect issue -the children were not there simply for the taking, imo.

That word is an awful one.

Chose either "definetly" or "never"

What if the place caught fire?

The kids managed to fall into a bath and drown?

They jumped on the bed and went arse up and landed smashed there head on a cabnet?

They would be ****ed then. Why not now, its all ended up with the same result?
Them not looking after the kids has probably killed one

If i was watching them.

Any parent will tell you that you can't watch your kids 24/7.

I'm not defending the Mcannes, they were foolish and selfish, but it's not quite neglect, and probably why they're still free of any accusations or charges.

I'd quite happily see all manner of horrible things perptrated on the person who took Maddy, but that doesn't change the fact that the parents created the window of opportunity for her abduction with irresponsible behaviour.

If they had looked after their child, would this have happened? Possibly, but probably not.

There are so many windows of opportunity to abduct a child though, I suggest its impossible. What about that 6 year old girl who was abducted while she was in the bath? You *cannot* be with your children 100% of the time, its impossible. Back before we had all this paedo hysteria, parents would do exactly what the McCanns did. The restaurant they were in was in the same complex as their apartment, and they were checking on things every half hour. People directing their anger at the McCann's are missing the point imo.

Was the room definately unlocked?

I thought the abductor got in through a window, and had to break some shutters off their hinges to do so.

Fire alarm.

Bath? It was late evening wasn't it and they were all in bed asleep?

You can keep an eye on them though.

Every 5 mins or so you can check up on them, Or you can stay in the garden with the kids and not be too far away from them.
Atleast then you could hear the screams and crys when something bad happens

Kids wake up.

Kids can turn on taps.

Kids can mess around when you turn a blind eye.

I guess blaming them makes themselves feel superior parents. If a paedo wants your child there is nothing you can do to protect them.

In that 5 mins it's possible for your child to be abducted though. Certainly not neglect.

Admittedly the Mcannes are closer to neglect than that, checking on their kids ever 30 mins rather than 5, but certainly nothing they can be arrested for.

...the kid left in the garden for 5 mins could have done any number of things too, what's your point?
