In that 5 mins it's possible for your child to be abducted though. Certainly not neglect.

Admittedly the Mcannes are closer to neglect than that, checking on their kids ever 30 mins rather than 5, but certainly nothing they can be arrested for.

But in my scenareo i would be close enough to hear screams and crys or someone talking to my kids.

... If a paedo wants your child there is nothing you can do to protect them.

I think there is, I know when I was young on holiday with my parents I was always within 10 metres of one of them, no matter how much they just wanted to sit back and relax

They left thier 3 kids. The oldest was 3. In an unlocked hotel room while they went out for lunch.

Seemed like irresponsible parents IMO

In a hotel its often recommended to leave the door unlocked, there's more chance of them getting locked in during a fire then there is of someone trying to kidnap them.

Do they always make sounds? I'm not into kidnapping children or anything but if you have little remorse for a childs wellbeing as a kidnapper/paedophile has, you're not going to be concerned about not startling or harming the kid. You'll do whatever it takes to ensure the child isn't physically able to cry out, if you know what I mean. :(

anyone else think paedophiles should have there balls slowly cut off with a pair of scissors and then left to bleed to death? I certainly do, just think how scared that girl must have been.

Do your parents keep a 24 hour watch? No.
A child was snatched whilst a mother went to get a towel. So can you honsetly say you won't leave your child alone for 2 minutes? No.

Anyone who's a paedophile should be tortured and punished blah blah.......how many time do we have to hear comments like this? Yes, paedophilia is awful and we all think so. I don't know why people get off on reiterating the obvious.

Thats a very good point how many people would be spiting venom if they looked the door then thy're children burned to death.

In my opinion you should never leave a three-year-old alone, especially in a public space. At that age, when I was in my parents' custody, at least one of them was always there. Madeleine's parents were irresponsible. I'm not implying that they deserved this to happen - but they were irresponsible.

Even when you were asleep? Even when one parent was at work and the other who was looking after you needed to take a dump?

Hold up, do you suddenly have my life history? I'll have you know that I was never left alone, not even when my mother went to get a towel, she would take me with her, even more so at the age of 3. They did keep watch over my 24 hours a day, right from the moment I woke to the moment I was put to bed they knew exactly where I was. Now I don't know if this was just my parents, maybe they are more protective than most, but certainly from my experiences I was never left alone.

Interesting because if it is her body, the distance from where she was taken gives the last know person to see her alive, her father, a window of opportunity dispose of the her body.

Is it that unbelievable that her father may be responsible?

You've contradicted yourself there. Your post implies that you were left alone while you slept.
