Madeline dead?

RIP such a tragic loss of a beautiful, innocent little girl

Lets hope the abductor may have left his dna on her body or whatever and can be brought to justice!

Listening out on the BBC News 24 live stream, as we speak.

I honestly hope Madeline is safe and alive, as unlikely as it is. It's just a shame it's her parents fault that all this has come about.

A truck driver ran a stop sign at a train crossing down here the other day.

It caused 11 people to be killed.

I bet he is suffering for what he did and feels like ****, But he still got Charged for it and could be facing jail time.

Are you by any chance a parent yourself Basmic?

I wonder if the Children's Society would agree with your view?
I'm not a parent, and I couldn't care less what society agrees or disagrees with me.

If I was a parent wanting to go for a meal abroad, I would make sure a properly identified adult, over the age of 21, is looking after my child constantly in the room. Not 10, 20 or 30 minute brief checkups.

Why do people keep forgetting the fact that the parents have done nothing illegal and will not be arrested or trialled or whatever.

Just because what they did isn't illegal doesn't make it right.

- they have certainly learned their lesson....

That's not good enough.

They should have their other children taken away from them as further punishment because that would make basmic happy. :p

I think they know that now - they have certainly learned their lesson....

Does that mean society has no responsibility towards the missing child to address their previous actions?

We know it was wrong of them but people keeping banging on that they should be punished. They cannot be punished, no amount of rolleyes from the OcUK forums will change that. :p

Pretty difficult seeing as the parents haven't done anything illegal.

Wrong. A woman was fined £2,000 for abandoning their children whilst they calmed down because the 6 and 9 year old were stressing her out. When she went back to pick them up, the police were waiting. She got took to court, and she was prosecuted.

So, yes, it is illegal. Two charges of abandonment.

I have no idea why people think this isn't illegal. I think it needs to made clear, that it is illegal.

:\

That was abandonment, not neglect. Perhaps if the Mcannes had left her on the side of a Portugese main road you'd have a case. Leaving them in a hotel room is not the same thing. Plus, the Mcannes didn't cause intentional suffering like she did.

Yep don't get me wrong, I want justice for Madeleine and that's not just her abductor, also her parents who I have nothing but contempt towards but this thread isn't the place
