Malaysia Grand Prix 2012, Kuala Lumpur - Race 2/20

I think Button will have another strong race, however I reckon RBR will bounce back.

Vettel
Button
Webber

What's the betting I am bang wrong and Hamilton gets the win :p

Mercedes will be much quicker in Malaysia too, with it's long straights.

Austrailia is a media/high downforce track.

RB will do well too if Vettel has a good practise session. I remember when he spun out, the commentator saying how him more than most, it will upset his qualifying session as he likes to do a perfect lap in practise, then visulise it before his last run qualiy. He didn't have that to draw on last weekend. Probably a contributary factor to Webber beating him despite not having kers worth 3/4 tenth per lap depending on who you speak to.

One week gaps are good.
Also proper race track and they have some real data, so I'm looking forward to seeing the true rankings.

I fully expect rbr to be up there. With quali 1-LH, then SV Or JB equal for 2nd and 3rd slot.

Race will be LH winner or DNF, if DNF my money would be JB followed by SV.

Lewis struggled in round 1, after looking at many on board videos of Lewis compared to vettel and button after the sc, Lewis was struggling with wheel spin and just over all traction from the rear, vettel was pushing very hard and along with webber. But jenson was in a different league, he looked so much more relaxed than the others.....

Malaysia is one of Lewis's favorite tracks so high hopes from him this weekend :)

I've actually not had much time to watch footage, which is causing me lots of pain.

Hamilton may well be struggling to adjust to the new Pirelli's and in that situation, Button will generally prevail. However, if Mclaren cannot find the perfect setup, JB will struggle and LH would likely be stronger.

It's interesting that LH struggled with wheelspin all through the race then. The spinning cost him at the start and judging by what your saying, it hurt him throughout the race. Perhaps that is something he will work on this time around...

It is early doors yet, first race etc. As long as Vettel doesn't get to stick his finger up, I'm happy.

My money is on Button if that weather forecast is right.

.

It won't be, You need hour by hour forecast. It is nearly always dry during the day, but big thunderstorms at dusk.

Edit - actually when race is on, forecast ATM is very light rain 0.28mm

There are thunderstorms in Malaysia every day around 5/6pm all year around, dry by the next day though.

Good chance of Mercedes pole here with the big straights.

lol someone probably asked his opinion and he gave it... its not like he phoned up autosport or something to have a rant

He's basically saying, "we asked the FIA if their exhausts are legal, they said yes, so we won't press them any further out of respect"...

Hinting that other teams should respect the FIA's decision on mercedes' DRS aid.

Could be completely wrong but that's how I interpreted it.

If it is wet I can't decide which of the McLarens will benefit more.

LH has a reputation for being a demon in the wet (except when he's crashing into his team mate) and JB had an epic race in Canada last year (except when he crashed into his team mate and ran Alonso off the track).

:p
