Malaysian Grand Prix 2011, Sepang International Circuit - Race 2/19

Its blatantly obvious to everyone that you are a troll but, the rules let you stay!

how is it a troll?

rules state can not flex more than 5mm... your wing obviously is i dont care what an obviously unreliable test that does not do what its suposed to says.

if they stuck your car in a wind tunnel im sure they would see that flex

The rule is enforceable and needs to be changed, can't flex more than x-amount in scruternering. And if they don't like the look of flex beef up the test. To much whining not enough development.

I'm surprised that teams are only now beginning to develop a copycat version of the wing. If I were running the team I'd have had designers on it the first race after I saw it. Legal or not, waiting for the FIA to decide could well gift RB another WDC this year.

Clearly RBR have done an Apple (in terms of worker's rights to post). That is a shame because just like with Apple, that makes the haters, hate even more!

Shame CS||Nuts has had to go, some insight from the other side of the operating table is always useful. But Horner's RBR are clearly on a mission to protect themselves every which way they can, which is fair enough I suppose.

Back to more pressing matters, a couple of hours to go, is it raining yet??

Less than an hour ago, there were heavy storms to the north east of the track. Maybe they'll dodge it, maybe they won't. Unfortunately, if it does rain remotely heavily I can see them hauling the safety car out for an extended spell.

***edit***

And just to reiterate what a few of you have said - it's a shame CS||nuTs has to stop posting, but I can totally understand why. Good luck for the rest of the season mate, though I have a feeling that your boy Vettel will walk it!

imo its not because it may pass a test but its blatantly obvious to anyone it bends more than the few mm the fia rules allow.

probably be banned next year once most people have them  so much for the cost cutting of f1 to help the lower teams

but it passes the test that the FIA set.

The rules don't state that the car can't be observed to show flexing of the wing when out on the track. It states it must not flex when tested by the FIA, which it doesn't

Its a gap in the rules, exactly the same as the double diffuser.

I think its great that controversy over the 'flexing wing' continues, in the eyes of RBR at least. Clearly the 1s gap is not entirely due to the legal/illegal flexi wing. Surely a flexing wing offers less drag at speed, so perhaps its helping them through high speed corners, its certainly not a magic pill (looking at their straight line speed).

Whilst everyone concentrates on catching up on a flexi wing, probably worth 0.2-0.3s/lap at best IMO, RBR continue to develop legal/illegal mods for the rest of the car, many of which we cannot even see! CH must be laughing everytime Martin Whit mentions it and stokes the flames in the press.

Its time to move on, no double diffuser like performance to be found here.

Its not like the F-duct or double diffuser, because in itself its not the only thing IMO making the RBR that much faster than everyone else.

True..But their test is for a wing that can't flex more then 5MM

Again the rules and test was made for a wing that can only flex 5MM the RB wing breaks this rule.

Its a gap in the rules, exactly the same as the double diffuser.

Again true but they banned the double diffuser as they banned the Toyota's wing and the Ferrari wing because they had no test for it and people could see it flexing and they banned the F-Duct.

The FIA have no consistency and they treat the general public as fools.

What's the craic with CS||nuTs not being able to post?

Its the same as me not being able to name the charity I work for as that makes me and the children I look after identifiable. I also wouldn't be allowed to post if one of those young people were to be involved in any kind of public investigation.

Anyway am I doing a rain dance or not? :D

Morning people!

Knip you may not need to do the rain dance :D hope your well btw.

Me ok, other than aching legs after 2 days traipsing round London, with a Kylie gig in the middle *swoon* hope yer alright :)

Someone make me a bacon sarnie, I can't be arsed to get up! :p

that's the problem it actually does state a maximum flex whilst on track and not just in the test.

the difference is, he constantly posts about his work and gets drawn into discussions about it.

personally, I think he was on an ego trip.

90% chance of rain during the race.

Seriously Bernie, if the locals know it will rain every day at 6pm or whatever, because it's the rainy season... and when it rains, its torrential... Don't schedule the race at that time!
