Malaysian Grand Prix 2011, Sepang International Circuit - Race 2/19

I thought it was a great race, gutted for Alonso but... It's racing, Hamilton came out of it fine and Alonso was punished for his mistake.

Ashame for Petrov, a double points finish would have been good for Renault.
Can't believe how much air he caught! :D

Too much whining about DRS. Its a good addition, will be fine tuned and by the end of the season we'll all be fine with it.

to be fair didnt Alonso break a part of Hamilton's floor , causing lack of aero?

Hamilton deserved to finish ahead of Alonso , hope FA gets a 30 second drive thru penalty from the stewards

Well done to JB, completely beat his team mate on race pace by managing all the sets of tyres , and would probably have been a good fight between him and MW for 2nd if Mark hadnt had KERS issue right from the start.

Sorry to see Perez pull off early - sounds like a strange issue (a piece of carbon fibre from another car causing his engine to shut down)

Pity the Renault's got in the way at the start - could have had a real race right up to the flag if they hadnt (they deserved to be there, but their race pace isnt quite as good as McLaren, or RB, which spoilt the race a little)

Being able to move 30Kg around - about 5% of total weight makes a huge difference to handling!!!

Except, as i said, the weight distribution is fixed.

The KERS batteries sit on the floor of the car as it is, so there is little to be gained in terms of COG too.

The big difference is in balance under breaking. I.E the drag of the kers on the rear wheels, but that can be adjusted depending on how quickly or slowly they want to harvest the energy.

Is that a joke? How could you justify 30 seconds? Why are you watching motor racing at all? A single car time trial shootout sounds more like what you want. Too dangerous to have cars racing.

Hamilton was ruined anyway, can't see that it hurt him much. He'd still have had to pit for tyres anyway.
Thank God we don't have people like you making the decisions.

"Deserved to finish ahead of Alonso" on what grounds? Even after alonso's stop for a front wing, Hamilton still finished behind Alonso. He was always going to, their strategy was rubbish.

stop being patronising will you

It was an avoidable accident and deserved a penalty

Hamilton was only behind Alonso BECAUSE of the stop which was imo caused because Alonso crashed into him in the first place (McLaren were aiming for 2* 3 stops- yet LH suddenly has to make a 4th after the accident hmmmm

(Extra stop = 21 seconds to start with, part of aero missing = loss of lap time + working tyres harder ie not lasting as long , easily equating to 30s difference over 10 or so laps)

You are what is wrong with racing. Demanding punishment for any mistakes. I'M not sure if you were actually watching the race? Hamilton was always going to have to stop again. He was slow on those tyres at all times, they were never going to last.

Did you forget that Alonso had to make a much longer stop to replace the wing he destroyed?
Hamilton had no chance due to mclaren strategy.

Edit: I keep reading your post, it's utterly clueless, gets worse each time.
The logic is totally flawed and I can only conclude you weren't watching and didn't know of the Ferrari stop.

Don't be silly. Hamilton did the exact same thing to Alonso in Bahrain 2008 and there was no penalty back then either. And that was the year of the infamous Spa incident.
