Malaysian Grand Prix 2013, Kuala Lumpur - Race 2/19

It will most likely rain. This is another race where the start time has pushed on in the afternoon. It rains almost every late afternoon in Malaysia.

Are there two DRS zones here?

Oddly at the last race Mercedes weren't quick in a straight line. So they've obviously added some elements that are creating more downforce and drag as a result.

Lotus, despite the Renualt engine have been one of the fastest cars in a straight line the past couple of years, so they should go well. Likewise Force India.

He can't have it any worse, that's for sure.

He's entered three F1 races in Oz and not completed 1 lap!

I think Hülkenberg will destroy Gutiérrez this year.

You're not wrong there... I'm hoping that Sauber is half decent again this year, reckon he can go well given the chance.

Just read that Sam Bird is back in GP2 with Russian Time, seems they must have a fair bit of Russian money behind them so they can pick decent drivers for their first season instead of sponsorship.

I also think the Hulk will destroy Esteban this year, just like he owned this lap :)

There are some interesting implications with the new DRS rules which mean people won't get such an advantage when in the zone in the race.

Still early in the week for this, but BBC predicting:

Fri: Rain / thunder storms
Sat: Rain / slightly less thunder storms
Sun: Rain / thunder storms

Hope the red flag man is warming up.

Hope the commentary teams are up to speed on their local wildlife :o

No doubt there will be the obligatory FOM shot of a bird in a puddle on one of the curbs.

But is that for race/fp time?
You can't just look at normall weather forecast. As it will rain over there. However that doesn't mean it'll actually rain durying the race/practice times.

I hope it's not so bad they have to red flag it, or if they do it doesn't last for ages.

I'd rather have a long red flag period than a 30 lap procession behind the safety car. If they don't want them to race then stop and wait until they do, don't rob us of half the laps while the drivers complain that its dry enough for inters.
