Malaysian Grand Prix 2014, Kuala Lumpur - Race 2/19

Williams messed up. Should have let Bottas through much earlier. Spent pretty much the entire race staring up Massa's exhaust. Made up 10 places, and then just stopped...

Radio call to Bottas after the finish - We know there was more positions there, We'll have a chat later.

Caterham now move up to 10th in the championship - 2 car finish in 13th and 14th. :D

Yep.

I can understand that Rosberg was in dirty air for a few laps, but I think his first stint was most hurt by likely the wheel spin/sideways action in that 2nd or 3rd corner. But most of the race he was as clear as Hamilton was and no where near his pace.

Lol massive sponsor plug.

And yep, nothing against them running under 100kilos. So Williams might not have had that fuel on board.

Did they introduce the fuel graphic in the build up to the race? Did they explain it at all, because it would be interesting to know. Have they got a list of fuel used and they are just assuming 100kg's of fuel onboard and doing a percentage, or do the cars have to say how much fuel is on board before the race. Is the percentage what they are sending the FIA directly so it's calculated by the team, etc.

They didn't go beyond "it's fuel percentage init" during the race.

They have a significant advantage, Lewis however drove a peerless race.

As we saw for years with Vettel when you have that much in hand it's not that hard. Vettel is no better than Alonso or Hamilton or anyone was when he had the fastest car and a new young driver is pushing him harder than any of us thought.

Mercedes have so much in hand as Red Bull used to.

Merc seem to have such a good package. Seems as if Hamilton was cruising on 4 cylinders then popped it back up to 6 to nab the fastest lap then back to 4.

I do hope the grid closes up a bit over the season. No doubt they will.
