According to Merc. Hamilton's ICU failed with no warning in the telemetry.

If Merc could have won the Constructors anywhere, Malaysia or Germany would have been their choices.

The whole Ricciardo/Barcelona thing kind of winds me up. Throughout that race Verstappen was saving his tires brilliantly while Ricciardo was burning up his tires much more. Ultimately I think Ricciardo wouldn't have finished if he didn't pit and Verstappen held on to the end without pitting because he was working his tires better. Everyone acts like it was a flat out Ricciardo win if he was on the same strategy but I didn't see it like that at all. He was ragged throughout the race, sliding and hurting tires.

Verstappen was saving his tires everywhere except the last corner to get speed to not be passed on the straight. It was a masterful drive that gets under rated because everyone deems it a strategy error for Ricciardo by RBR.

I guess in a way it takes the pressure off Lewis as there's nothing he could have done about the failure and all he can do now for the rest of the season is try to finish ahead of Rosberg and hope for the best?

Rosberg is just so unlikeable though. I'd even prefer it to be vettel or alonso up there instead! :D lol

That's it then. Looks like the inferior driver will win the championship purely due to reliability

This is why I've never rated drivers on points or titles... the only reason I don't want him to win the title is because probably most other people use points/titles as complete proof of a driver being better so it would be better if he didn't. But for reliability Hamilton would be a couple dozen points ahead of Rosberg minimum. Also Rosberg has smacked Hamilton off the track at least twice this year and generally been a bit of a cheat both this year and previously. I can't stand seeing him win because he's a cheat. He cheated again today, pushed Verstappen off.

Yeah those two would actually be winning on merit though, all Rosberg has done is be second best and have less reliability

Well, this race couldn't be worse frankly in terms of fairness. Rosberg smacks Kimi to get past, but has track position and the penalty applied after his pitstop basically means he won by cheating and hitting another driver. If he got a 10 second added to pitstop Kimi would fairly have track position and Rosberg probably wouldn't have gotten ahead.

Verstappen got utterly screwed throughout, only lost to Ricciardo because he had to avoid Vettel being an idiot at the start. Faster throughout than Ricciardo, better in qualifying then screwed with stacked pitstops. honestly there was no reason not to wait and do on alternate laps, was fairly obvious the VSC would be out for another lap.

Kind of hate how this race has turned out.

Rosberg has only had the lead, again, like 2014, because of reliability issues for Hamilton throughout the season.

Honestly if Hamilton wins this title it will be embarrassing as hell for Rosberg.

Talk about being unfair but Vettel smacked Nico knocking him down, maybe the stewards should thing how that was unfair and scrub the 10 second penalty because of Sebs kamikazi corner taking

You mean Raikkonen right?
