bUt mUH hIStory oF oPpreSsiOn apparently means that certain forms of explicit racism are far more likely to end up in court time

Perhaps someone should be asking why hate speech targeting whites is apparently deemed so socially acceptable?

You have previously showed much disdain for such hypocrisy, have you considered writing to your MP? It might not enact change exactly, but it could be a start.

I like how the image you've quoted says that these views are both racist and bigoted, whether natural or not. I could imagine the same group of window lickers in this thread saying that being homosexual or trans is unnatural.

I get that some say modern-day black people are still impacted by the slave trade. They say it, anyhow.

I wish it were zero, but the reality is that black people in America at least still live in abject poverty as a result of slavery. They are still trying to bring themselves to a sort of "average" level of income, education and quality of life.

Even though slavery ended in 1833, this thread seems to be ignoring the fact that black people didn't have perceived equal rights in the Western world until the mid-20th century! So whether it's 10 generations or not, it's still relevant.

Racial apartheid existed in this country and in America until the mid-20th century again, and until the late 20th century in South Africa, for example.

We're only 55 years from the success of the civil rights movement. Many of those people are still alive.

I'm glad you agree about the banana moron.

Anyway, after some great arguments I've decided that it's me being unreasonable and obviously the Mods also agree that Blacks and Gays should just get on with it when they are insulted.
Nobody has hurt them, they're only words and how can a banana be insulting or racist?

It's just strange that some people get to be protected by law and some do not. You have to be the right kind of minority. Heck, minority isn't even the correct word anymore. You have to be in the right group. Then you get protection from discrimination; you get the full weight of the law.

If you're not in the correct groups, however, you just have to man up. E.g. nobody can ever be racist to a white guy. If I went to the police after being called a cracker or whatever, I'm sure they'd have a bit of a laugh about it after I left, and of course nobody would care. You wouldn't care.

Without going into a racism & moderation debate, I don't agree. I also don't see enough posts being reported yet people are quick to complain publicly - can't win eh?

If you have an issue, as usual please post in FCD so it can be discussed.

In any event, I think this thread has run it's course as it's just turned into the inevitable.
